Long story made short, my half-brother from my father's previous marriage got a blood infection due to his work and ended up in emergency surgery. His mother had to make an emergency decision and to sum things up, my bro no longer has his left foot. This sucks! I'm mad at the construction company that employs my brother! This whole situation sucks! 🙁

Sorry to hear this, and I wish him a swift recovery. His poor mother. I can't imagine having to make a decision like that on the spot.

Thanks Bug. Yeah, it was either surgery to try and remove the necrosis (with was very risky) or outright amputation of the foot. 🙁

A horrific decision but giving the amount of pain he was in I don't think the foot could have been saved.

The worse part is the construction company he works for doesn't give any medical insurance to their employees.

The whole family is considering pitching in to hire a lawyer.

^This should come under Worker's Compensation Insurance.^

^A good case for a lawyer.^

Sounds like legal help is a must here. I don't know the laws where you are, but I'm pretty sure here in Texas they have to carry some kind of liability insurance. Hopefully that's the case in your state.

Oh my! I hope he recovers and can get his life back on track as soon as possible
