I have a pet(sorta)! Y'see, I live in sunny Florida, and bugs n' lizards and whatnot are pretty common here. What's not so common is this lil' gecko who's decided to make my home his home. He's almost as cute as the Gieco Car Insurance lizard(minus the tiny car--I'm working on that). He looks alot like the critter pictured below, but alot smaller and sorta malnourished-looking. I think he wandered in by accident.
During the wee hours last night, he came out and was running around, checking the place out. He seemed to have no fear of me, and even wandered up to me a coupla times(at one point, just hanging out on top of my foot for awhile). He's cute as the dickens, and he seems to actually follow me around the place!!!
Still, he looks kinda hungry, and I worry that I'll step on him or something. So, I tried opening the door last night so that he could go back outside to his lil' lizard friends and family, but right about then, the landlord's cat came up the stairs, and he is a reknowned lizard-killer. The gecko seemed to sense this, and just as he was about to head outside, he changed his mind and stayed in.
So, it looks like we're stuck with each other for now. Apart from the occassional gnat or spider(or flea from the cat), I'm afraid he won't have enough to eat, though. Any ideas on what I can feed him/her/it?
Also, taking name suggestions!
