Heya all 🙂 .
First off, this picture is basically a copy, credit to SKA, the original artist. Thought I'd post it though, as I sketched outlined and coloured it myself and was kinda proud 😀 . Critique is encouraged 🙂 .
Thankies!
(I've posted the original too, to give credit to that artist 🙂 )

Wow, looked like an original drawing. I am envious.
BTW an artist told me that we all tend to draw ourselves. Not sure it happened to you here. I'm skinny, my friend was fat, we both drew the same model (she wore shorts and t-shirt). My drawing was thin, his was heavy. I copied a drawing of an old man from an art book, and unconsciously receded his chin more to match mine.
Very glad you posted, I am even more inspired to try drawing again.

Meesa posted unsa Devart! (talks like Jar Jar Binks for no apparent reason)

I also commented on it on DA, but it is such a good job that it deserves to be said twice. Excellent work!

Looks crisp enough.
Critique? You might want to double check the left knee joint.
Congrats on drawing the other leg from scratch.

It bears a resemblance without being an all-out line-tracing work.
Kudos to ya.

🙂

Thanks everyone 😀 .
Yeah, I notices that there's a little knee cap thing on the left joint, but just opted for simplicity cause I didnt want to screw it up. I'm still having a lot of difficulty with hair, so this one was a good practice for me 🙂 . And the eyes are a new way of drawing them for me too, which I might yoik as they turned out quite well 😀 .

I've tried doing some stuff to the picture in my sketchbook, and this is what came out. This is my first attempt at any kind of background, so apologies for the crappyness...

What do you mean crappyness? I like this one 🙂 I've noticed your skill is improving with every picture you do here, and you are picking up more and more techniques. In time you may be the best artist of us all 😀

Excellent progress! Copying is the very best way to develop the muscle memory you need.

Indeed. This is a very good way to devleop ur drawings. My own-personal style of art has been developed through drawing in many different styles. 🙂

I too used to be an artist that would trace and things such as that to practice my artwork. First I started drawing mario as a stick figure, to tracing pokemon with see through paper and making little cards since I hadn't the money to buy my own cards at the time, to doodling oddities in my sketchbook at school. I'd say you're in the second stage of your artwork, and someday soon with a lot of practice you can be exceptionally wonderful at it. 😀

Thanks so far everyone ^_^ .
I'm churning out a lot of stuff at the minute for some reason. Just getting into the mood for drawing really ^_^ .
