Two major complaints here:

1. Our new golden boy J.T.O'Sullivan...what can I say. I do not like this guy. Oh sure, I think he's probably a decent person, but as our quarterback, he just isn't right. ...and NO, this is not just a reactionary post to our loss to Naw'lens, it's a general observation. I am not, have never been, and will never be a fan of deer-in-the-headlights pocket passers that cannot handle the rush. Sure, the guy has been making plays for us...as long as he's not being blitzed.

"...it's 3rd and 8 from the 37
Saints showing blitz
O'Sullivan backpeddling
can't find a reciever
IS IN TROUBLE...TRYING TO AVOID THE RUSH
...AND IS SACKED AND ALMOST LOOSES THE BALL AGAIN!"

Bullshit!

..and did you see him after he threw that first end zone interception?! He looked like somebody in his family had just died! You could actually see his confidence going down the drain...and knew that he was going to play like shit the rest of the game!

BTW, what the hell happened to Shawn Hill?! Now that guy was a play-maker!

2. WHY THE HELL ARE WE RUNNING THE MARTY-BALL OFFENSE?! We're the 49ers, not the freaking Rams! What made us, and HAS always made us great is the West Coast Offense. We invented the damn thing! ..and what are we running now?! The Coreyell offense. WHY?! The WCO won us 5 superbowls! Many teams around the NFL run it: Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Denver, Washington, Seattle, etc. We are the team the other teams want to be like, not the other way around! Why are we trying to be like the Rams? Why are we trying to be like the Patriots? Hmmm? Both of these teams, though made the darlings of the NFL by the media, have won AND lost Superbowls in their heyday. BTW, remember John Elway and the Broncos a few years back? Remember their dominant team that won 2 straight Superbowls? They ran the West Coast Offense and could not be stopped.
Anyway, I'm done. Nolan needs to be fired and somebody needs to hit John York over the freaking head and wake his non-caring ass up!

Ahhh, poor 'Niners fans. San Fran just hasn't been the same since that scandal they had in the office years ago.

I didn't get to see that particular game on Sunday, but I should point out to you that the 'Aints are really not as bad of a team as everyone thinks they are. When they get all their starters back from injury, they will be a powerhouse to contend with. But I digress...

I don't think O'Sullivan is that bad of a QB (though I'll stick with Big Ben, thank you). I'm not too familiar with his career, but perhaps it's an O-line problem. There's a lot of QBs that don't do so well under pressure. Look at Peyton. Knock him on his ass a few times and he gets flustered. That's why Indy keeps a good line in front of him.

But then, what the hell do I know? I live on the east coast.

Poor Niners fans huh?

Sure there are LOTS of QB's that don't do well without a good line in front of them...except Joe Montana...and Steve Young...and Jeff Garcia...
Part of the problem we're having IS the O-line and the blocking schemes. Martz likes to use several different blocking schemes and we're still trying to adjust to it.

BTW, speaking O-Lines, your Steelers had better take steps to shore up theirs or else Big Ben will be in trouble before Mid-season.

You're preaching to the choir there, brother. Last week was the most dismal performance of an O-line I've seen in quite some time. And considering it was hyped that our line was "much improved" from last year, I see lots of running from Ben this year.....again!

Maybe we could combine both our O-lines and get a decent one. We could alternate them through the season.

The most amazing thing to me was I believe the Niners turned it over twice in the Red Zone. (And failed to convert once... I think)

It's the same thing that killed them vs. the Cards in Wk 1. If they learn to protect the ball and convert on long drives they should see more points and even W's.

They are a competitive team and they should have lit up the 'Aints. I thought they'd at least cover the spread!

Perhaps they'll catch the Pats off gaurd this coming week. If not, then they'll be fighting to stay alive (although in the weak NFC East an 8-8 record might take it)

Two interceptions in the endzone is two too many.

Still better then Alex Smith though.
