My site was hacked!

Just a few hours ago, my site www.Haltickling.de was working perfectly normal, and now it's gone. Instead a fantasy image shows up, along with a message "Your security is in my hands. Your site was hacked by Yussuf Kara."

Any practical hints how to proceed? Thanks!

If it's any consolation, Hal, this "Yusuf Kara" has hacked a LOT of websites: http://www.google.com/search?source...&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2005-09,GGGL:en&q="yusuf+kara"

I saw the same exact thing on another site recently, this guy is all over the place apparently. I don't know what to do about it except that I would suggest contacting your webhost about security on their servers, and of course make sure you backup your forum as frequently as possible. Which, come to think of it, I think I'll do with us right now.

Apparently this hack is done by a worm, it automatically hits servers looking for phpbb and attempts to exploit a security hole in it. There's probably an official phpbb forum on their website where they are discussing this issue. That would probably be a good place to check out for tips.

Ouch i'm sorry to hear about your website being Hacked Haltickling. But i mean really what can you do? yeah you can put barrells and patches in place and updated onto your computer. But really Hackers will always find new and more better ways to hack into any website. That's the down fall of computers for every new tech toy or gaget that comes out True Hackers will always find a way and a loop hole around it.

God knows why these pocket protector geeks do this shit but its happened a few times by some nerds that call themselves "spy kids" at a music related forum im on a few months back...my solution...give em some nudie pics to look at and they'll be happy little dweebs LOL

I'm very sorry to hear that this happened to you, Hal. I do hope you can restore yourself soon. I hope someone catches this hacking loser! They are a danger to all on the internet!
