This really pissed me off. I followed the rules, I put
topless cartoons in my adult group and G to PG-13 rated stuff in my other groups. I
followed their directions in keeping my groups from being deactivated.
Then poof all of them are now gone along with my yahoo email account. I was a member of 225 groups and was a moderator of 2 and owner of 8-10. I had probably a couple thousand members total.

From this point on I am only going to use Yahoo groups to help TicklingGothGirls as a moderator and be a non-owner but a member.
😡

Sorry to hear about your troubles with yahscrewd Rajee Today I went,or tried to, to visit this site at yahoo on the Sherman tank and found out that is no longer there Not sure why it would get deleted It's about tanks not any adult material in it😡

😕 Maybe
it's a Yahoo mainframe/webserver/mailclient problem.
😕

I'm sorry to here this rajee. Its not right, especially since you were doing the right thing. It doesn't make sense. This is happening to alot of people I gather, especially recently.

I however still cannot speak ill of Yahoo, as my group has been there for a little over two years and it still remains. Maybe it had something to do with me moving it to the adult section for safety's sake even though theres no adult material on it. In either event, its strange that this is happening to just about everyone but me. Its like you're all cursed by Yahoo or something or have some bad mojo or karma going. What could any of you good people have honestly done to deserve this?

I really should be grateful, though have backup plans should my group be deleted. The loss would be purely sentimental in nature, but a loss all the same.

As for your problem, who knows. It could be a server issue, it could be some punk who works for Yahoo who gets thrills out of deleting groups and deleting e-mail accounts, perhaps at random. The actual possibilities are literally quite numerous.

In your specific case what makes it awkward is that you did everything right, apparently covered all your bases, and you still got treated this way. So that limits some of what this could be. I just get the feeling it's either a massive server issue which is affecting a good portion of ALL free groups and accounts, or its some Yahoo techy who has something against tickling and fetish material and is using the fact that portions of it MAY be adult in nature as an excuse to close you and others down.

For all we know, these actions aren't supported by Yahoo, and its a lone gunman or gunmen going around harassing people.

🙂 Thanks. If you were me, would you give Yahoo another chance and create another group or not? 😛

No need to thank me.

If I were you? Thats a really tough question to answer, friend, given my good status with Yahoo..

Hmm...I would, if I were you. This could all be one huge mistake or completely intentional, we don't know since no one is talking.

So if I were you I'd consolidate my material and put as much of it on a SINGLE group that I could to avoid attracting too much attention. I'd also monitor and control the links I post on other groups, and the links I would allow on my own. These things may seem like a good way to get new members, but they also leave a trail for the officials to find you. If everyone is connected then its easier to close down more groups that way. So I'd keep a low profile in this respect as well.

As for the loss of members, hopefully, you'll get at least a portion of them back. The ones that are actual members/fans that is. Because lets face it, a good portion of all of our members are a combination of spammers (still active or given up), and members who are not active and only joined for the material, not the community.

In reality, each of us artists inparticuar really only has about 20-50 REAL, TRUE geniune members, probably less. And only about a quarter of these people actually post rather than support you in silence like the greater portion does (presumably).

So you shouldn't be concerned about gaining back thousands of members, they were not thousands to begin with. I mean for this to encourage you, not put you or anyone else down, because in realizing that we in fact really do have a small fanbase with many others who are voiceless (by choice) and are unaccounted for (again, by choice), means we don't have to work so hard to try and make this all about the member count.

The point I'm trying to make is that you, me, and everyone that has or will come to be affected should focus on getting back our REAL members, the ones that contribute, the ones that post, and the ones which make the communities a community. The good thing is this is not only realistic, but very possible and easy.

And I'm sure that if I tried again (if I were you as you put it), I'd get back what matters most, and perhaps more than I bargained for. ^__^

😛 🙂 😀 Cool. I will be the guinea pig for the tickling artists who use Yahoo.
I will follow your lead and play it safe and put my group in an adult directory.
Then I will post the group here as well as Tickle Theater and Deviantart and Sheezyart as well.

On another topic, have any of your anime watchers/commenters shown interest in your tickling anime artwork in deviantart?
😀

Well, thats what I would do. I wouldn't give up or go elsewhere when the server of choice isn't necessarily the issue/problem for sure.

You might want a second opinion on this though. Some people might think I'm biased and to prove that I'm not, I'd just as soon you rather take their advice over mine if their alternative is better.

As for your question about me, yes, actually. There are people with any number of fetishes everywhere. Thats just a given. Its no suprize that some of these people and more and more are showing interest in my tickling artwork. Also, some of these people might be just like me and don't necessarily have a tickling fetish but still enjoy drawing it or in their cases viewing it.

I think at this point, so early in the game, its easy for me to spot a person with a fetish out of a crowd of people simply admiring a picture for it's artistic merits and nothing more. Not that a fetishist can't do that or anything. 🙂

Why do you ask? ^^

😀 1st, too late, I already am in the process of customizing my new group. 😛

To answer your question about my question,
I am constantly looking for new people with atleast a humourous interest in tickling art to show mine too. As we discussed in TickleTheater, there are too few of us there.
I will give the comments in your account a 2nd look.
😀

🙂 Comments others have made in your deviantart pages/account. Perhaps they would like my stuff too. 😀

What about them? 😕

Sorry if I seem oblivious on this one.

EDIT: Ok, I get it. Nevermind. You meant that if they liked my work based on the replies they gave me that they might like your work too, is what you're saying right?

If so, well, no two artists are alike and the replies they get might be completely different. Hopefully your work will be well recieved.

Sorry to hear that, rajee. As you may know, yahoo deleted all my seven groups (two of them were not tickling-related) and disabled my yahoo e-mail account as well, although I was following their rules. I rebuilt 3 of my groups, and soon afterwards, they were gone, too. I won't give them any more chances, they suck.

OTOH, they were the reason why I built my own website, so maybe I should be grateful to them... 🙄

😀
@Celtic Emperor- True. I still would like to give it a try.

@Kurch - Thanks!
@ Hal - Thanks and I hope what happened to you doesn't happen to me. Atleast I will have cartoons in other file storage sites if it does.
🙂

Ya know, having made my living in computers for the last 30 years, and knowing what I do about Unix, I'm surprised that the likes of Yahoo and Google can keep those acres of servers up and running for more than 5 minutes at a time.
What I'm saying is, I'll bet that random glitches run rampant in those shops, and you may have been a victim.

It wouldn't even surprise me to see your accounts pop back to life in the near future, especially if you were following the rules.

Any communication from Yahoo about this ?

As I was saying, your post is one of many examples of what the real reason could be. I don't think its right for anyone to assume Yahoo supports these actions or even assume Yahoo is aware of them all the time. I'd sooner attribute them to disgruntled employees and server errors than a malicious company.

Right on, Celtic, I agree totally that Yahoo is probably unaware of what their computers are doing and is not a malicious company.

Rajee, any word at all from Yahoo yet as to what happened ?

🙂 No Yahoo messages in my gmail or yahoo mail account.
An old Aimster buddy has joined my group though.
😀
