Hey which do you like better facebook or myspace or do you like both? for me i like myspace alot more but i have been liking facebook more its growing on me though but i still like facebook though.

I used to use myspace but now I prefer facebook purely because all of my friends are on it and it is easier to keep in touch. I also like the chat feature-but that can be tempremental at times. I also like it more than myspace because of all the different applications-Farmville, Rollercoaster Kingdom, Scrabble and Pool.

I've also tried Bebo and Twitter but they are dull in comparison to Facebook.

Yeah thats true there are more games on facebook

They both kinda suck 😛

I miss the days before "social" everything on the webs, back when we banded together to discuss common interests rather than the ephemeral musings of microblogging and geotagging and all the other buzzwordy terms that these sites attatch to their features.

Places that one can go and find good discussion on the webs seem to be drying up anymore. If someone opens a new site, it's a social networking site, not a bulletin board or forum. It's not a place for open discussion, it's for making friend requests and crap.

What a bunch of crap.

Facebook has better apps and Myspace is just Myspace lol. It's just good for puting pics of stuff you like and making a playlist of songs you like.Along with posting the occasional bulletin

MySpace has clearly been overtaken in popularity by Facebook, but I still prefer MySpace for the music option and the occasional status update.

Yeah well, actually if it wasn't for my friend sending me a invite to facebook i probably wouldn't have ever became a member of it so i guess i do owe her for that

I think people who have 100's of "friends" on thier myspace page are giant douches. I know a few people in real life who have like 300-400 friends on myspace, but in real life they only have like 2-3 friends that they hangout with...So whats the point? (Jim Cornette Face!?)

I'm with you. I have a handful of my true-life friends on my MySpace profile and I'm content with that. Besides, it's way less people to keep up with.

I got my first net-capable computer (an 8088 laptop, a 4800-baud dialup modem and a Unix shell account) in the early 90's. I couldn't afford one of them newfangled Pentium computers (90 Mhz! 750 megabyte hard drive!) but this magazine called Reign of Toads ran an article about how to go online with obsolete gear. There were no frames, Youtube videos, spyware, tracking cookies, or such web-crap, only text and very basic graphics, which you couldn't see with your shell account but it didn't matter so much. Discussions regarding all manner of topics, popular and arcane, were on USENET newsgroups. Then the spammers moved in. A few moderated newsgroups survived but USENET seems to have all but gone the way of my old 8088. (Check out groups.google.com, where all the old USENET conversations are now archived.)

The closest things to USENET now are IRC and specialized forums like this one, audiokarma, etc.

Facebook to me is nothing but a massive time-sink. Myspace at least lets me hear what bands sound like before I go see them.

I used to be all MySpace, but since they won't let me do anything there anymore until I "upgrade my browser", now I'm all Facebook. Never liked Twitter though.

I grudgingly use Myspace, but so infrequently that I had forgotten my log-on information when I last needed to sign in. I too feel that the rise of "social" media is squeezing out the traditional, discussion-oriented forums in favour of 140-character "tweets" and other low-attention-span content.

I use both, but definitely prefer Facebook... although thier constant changes are a little frustrating! I find more of my longterm friends on there, like people from high school, than I do on Myspace...Myspace is overrun with the teenyboppers, and I only use it occaisionally...I like the more grown-up feel of Facebook.

For me it's all Facebook, baby! More features, more application support, more "flexible" if you ask me and I didn't have but only a few (like 5) friends on MySpace, where as on Facebook I've got hundreds! 🙂

I also like the fact that Facebook has a "default" look for most parts. I seriously disliked MySpace's "auto-play musicplayers" and constantly changing views because of peoples' page modifications. It was always difficult to browse.

I also dislike that bands had "normal" profiles and for instance if I'd like a band and I've have friends, they'd all be listed in the same place? Doesn't this look stupid?

Mike Smith, James Ridge, Bob Marley, Brad Johnsson, Metallica, Janey Myers...

Seriously... They NEED to have a different place (in Facebook there are Friends, Groups and Pages listed in different places... I like that)

I also think Facebook has LESS commercials. The small boxes on the right don't even get my eye. I never actually even "see" them even by accident. On MySpace they're too "centered" for my taste. The bigger, the more annoying.

So all in all: More friends, more apps, more features, simplicity (design and looks), popularity and more... 🙂

Where I live MySpace isn't even that used... Don't know but a few people that use it, where as EVERYONE is on Facebook! 😀 Well atleast 90% of the people I know. The old and the young.

I use neither. Never had myspace, and only lasted for a month or two on facebook. That's when I started to be swarmed by friendship requests from people I don't know, my friends started spamming me with countless 'what color is your shit'-type applications, and the guy-grabbing, desperate girls came a-calling, so I decided it was time for me to pack my bags and leave.
