I've just set up my own freeview box here in the UK and would be happy to offer help to anyone struggling.

I have to admit it was the most difficult thing I have ever set up but once done it's perfect - sky plus box working on freeview with unlimited storage (depending on what you have).

It's a linux distribution that you install on an old pc and use for all your media - if you have the disc space. You install a tv tuner in the box set it up and record and view like a video.

Here's a couple of screen grabs of the user interface and the web interface. I use the web one for all the recordings - 2 clicks and your program is recorded.

Yes it's all free. All you have to get is a tv capture card - I got my dual tuner one for £30.00 on ebay and spend the time to set the system up.
