N64 technical problem

Hey, anyone know something about electronics? :happy: About a week ago, a lighting hit about 10-15 ft. from my house, burning a tree down in the process. (dont need to tell you just how f***ing scared I was😛) Anyway, 2day I noticed that my N64 (which was plugged in during the time that lightening hit) will not turn on. Does anyone know a way to fix this? If not, does anyone know a place I can go 2 fix it? I would really like to see it live and kicking, I'm a nintendo fan, and I just love the good old N64 games.:happy: I'm wondering if I need a new one, or if this can be fixed.

The reason I believe that its the lightening's fault is because it also destroyed the fuse in my TV. I could fix that, just take of some screws and all, but I couldn't find a fuse in the N64. 😀

It could be a number of things. It probably ruined the power supply. Could have even fried some of the circuits inside it too. N64's are cheap. You can probably pick one up at gamestop, EB games, or even Ebay for under 30 bucks. Maybe under 20...

Try plugging in diff outlets, if yer tv fried, it may be that socket

N64 units are $20 bucks at any video game store, but if you wanna go outta your way.

is this the first time you tried playing after the strike, and if so, try playing it at a friend's house. if this doesn't work, then it's dead, hopefully the cartridge plugged in didn't get fried.

lighting strikes theoretically can have some EMP damage, luckily the damage was to a $20 N64 and nothing much more pricey.

Could this have something to do with the recent problems this site had?:question: Anyway, at the moment I'm not in VA, I'm actually in New Mexico, visiting some friends of mine that I havent seen for some years...I might be here a while, dunno when I'll get bored.:happy:They always liked my jokes, and they told me I gotta stay at least a month. I told them I still go 2 college, (where I had to do a lot of work to get this few week vacation...🙄 ), but I'm gonna be there for at least a week or 2.
