Are there any other fans of NASCAR racing on the forum? I can't be the only one, surely! 🙄

I'm not...perhaps if this was made a little broader to Motor racing in General.

That being said, I support Marcos Ambrose, and I do watch the road course NASCAR races, and the DAYTONA 500! I do like those ones...but still not a huge fan.

Lol...but you can probably guess what I'm into by reading my signature!!

Auto or Motor Racing in general would be nice. I don't really come to this site for my racing "fix" but it is interesting to see how many (or few) fans there are of racing generally or in a specific series (e.g. NASCAR) at all on this list.

I'm a retired course marshall who'd worked US and international sports car and formula car races from 1974 through 2004 in the US and Canada. I've been a fan of Formula One grand prix racing since 1968, and while I'm mildly intersted in other forms of car racing, it's really the former I've followed all my life. I've met one other sorta like me about ten years ago, who was from here too, but I've gotten out of touch with her.

My own wife MzM like car racing somewhat better than the tickling.

Oh hellz yeah. I'm from Georgia.. If you don't like NASCAR, it's a sin. 😀

#48 all the way. :numberone:

I never cared for it at all for many reasons 1. It's boring, 2. WAY TO MANY Laps 3. ZERO competition 4. A winner is declared in the same day
For other "real" sports take several months of physical training and playing time where the season is never over until its over, traveling to multiple cities the game can be a nail biter or a blowout Sorry fans but i just dont see nor will i understand how going around in a circle at a high rate of speed not knowing if the corner your trying to manuver will be your last can possibly be entertaining

To each their own opinion, but I think you have little knowledge of NASCAR. It's boring because you do not understand the depth of strategy involved. The purpose of so many laps is to involve deeper strategy (pit stops, tire changes, how many tires, how much fuel, position of certain opponents, etc). Zero competition? How do you get that? There are over 40 cars in a race, not just one competitor to defeat in a single contest like so many other sports. Number 4 makes no sense. Nascar season is one of the longest in sports and in most cases, the only outcome that's decided in that single day is that single race, not the season championship. You do realize how long the nascar season lasts, right? The number of tracks (and cities) they race over the length of the entire season? Not to mention some races are decided within the last 5 laps. Just ask Jimmie Johnson about Michigan. As far as physical training, nascar drivers have to be in top condition both physically and mentally. You obviously do not realize how hot the inside of one of those cars get over the length of a race. As far as mental conditioning, a nascar driver has to concentrate more than an NFL quarterback in a single competition. If a quarterback loses concentration he sometimes throws an interception. If a nascar driver loses concentration he could lose his life. Also he gets no "time outs" to rest like other sports, or gets to rest while someone else is on the playing field. You obviously have no understanding of NASCAR or how it works. Please do a little research sometime.

To Heeko,

Your right i should have researched it more carefully but for people such as yourself who actually like the race pay attention for a extended period of time . i make comments from what I see on the TV I dont care for the races because to me it is boring. Once upon a time i was athletic i know what it's like to be in top physical condition and what it takes to compete but a accident "during the game" I was playing in cost me the vision in my right eye and hence 9 surgeries later over the course of 15 years not a day goes by that I dont think if I only had paid attention. By the way in everyday driving you need to be focused mentally if not you and someone else can die they're chances increase because of the high rate of speed they drive.
