I hope this is the right form (since it does have to do with tickling), but anyways, I have a session in 1 1/2 weeks (looking forward to it, btw). But to say my feet are dry and parched would be an understatement.

I have tried lotions, balms, soaking my feet in warm water with bath-beads, but nothing seems to work, and they go back to being dry and cracked.

I really want them to be at their best, when I have my session.

Does anybody have any advice or tips?

Thanks and wish me luck

Moisturel seems to be one of the better lotions.
Don't even think about using the cheap shit you might find at the dollar store.
MAke sure you are keeping those things real clean of course.
Also when they are real dry, as in not lotioned, remove the dead callused skin with one of those sand-block looking things. If you do not know what it is, ask the person at a place like Sally beauty supply. [the cashiers at the big stores probably won't know what it is.]

One thing that may help, when using the lotion, use just a little water, like put on the lotion before your feet are dry from washing.

This season is often cold and dry, and is of no help to skin condition.

I've been using AloeVera lotion, that I got from CVS

i think lespieds was referring to a pumice stone.
also, you can get a type of wax that can be used to help peel off dead skin and your feet will soak up the vitamins and such from lotions better.

Can you get that that stuff from Tom Thumb or Albertsons, or do I need to go to a specialty store?

you may be able to find the herbal parraffin wax at any pharmacy or wal-mart.

Ok, well like I said, try the Moisturel.
I don't know how good Aloe Vera is, but if it does not seem to be working...

I was not trying to accuse you of using cheap stuff, but the thing is - not all moisturisers are alike. I would say that using the REAL expensive ones like Arbonne, Clinique, Lancôme, or the like may be overspending, but the point is, use a good one, spend a few $$$

There is a lotion out there called "miracle foot repair" which works really well if used religously (probably twice a day). Apply and then put on some cotton socks. Also, "Lamisilk" puts out a lotion called "hydrate" which also works well when used a couple times a day. Another good product is put out by "Earth Therapeutics", it's called Tea Tree Oil peel-off foot mask. You put it on the soles of your feet, let it dry for a half hour, and then peel it off. Leaves your feet soft and moisturized.

To remove already existing callouses (before using the pumice stone), I also reccommend a "callous shaver". Unless your diabetic, then I would rule that one out. I find that if you soak your feet for 15-20 minutes, then use the callous shaver, do a light scrubbing with the pumice stone afterwards to really smooth things out, then use the foot mask, and follow that up with lotion, you should be smooth and soft in no time.

I know it's a bit much, but I do this foot ritual about once a week and it really keeps my feet in nice shape - even during these dry winter months. Then on the off days when you're not doing the whole foot care regimen, lotion at least twice a day. The key is consistancy. Do it regularly, and it will be easier to maintain.

If your feet are that bad...

I recommend going to get a pedicure. Make sure that you
bring some super-duper moisturiser and good cotton sox
with you, ask them to slather it on, put the sox on, and
keep using it until you see MistressA.

Sorry, I draw the line at guys getting pedicures. I know that's a sexist stereotype, and I apologize, but I just can't bring myself to get a pedicure

Re: If your feet are that bad...

Obviously, not getting a pedicure is your choice. There
are ALWAYS men in the shop I go to, and it isn't as though
they are getting their nails painted. I think they go for the
massage, too, as the places I frequent are pretty good at
that. I know there are some men on this board who get them,
and to that I comment that it's nice to have soft, freshly
cleaned feet to tickle. Personally, I can't see the difference
between getting a pedicure, and letting someone work your
feet over for tickling. And at least you'll know that your feet
are clean and feel good to the person who's going to tickle them.

In addition to the rest of this/others' statements...

If your feet are EXTREMELY cracked or dry though keep in mind there are some medical conditions that cause this.
...this is also a really good point, you might want to consult a podiatrist first... And/or a dermatologist.

Have you tried?

Is it just your feet or general skin?
Try drinking more water?
I notice for myself if my skin feels dry is due to not hydrating myself enough.
Please give it a try.
Hope it helps.

It's just my feet that are dry, and it does not matter how much lotion I slather, they still go back to being dry and dull

Most of the tips here are good.

- Don't skimp on the lotion. You get what you pay for.
- Use a pumice stone. You have to get rid of dead skin regularly.
- Clean them every day. Scrub 'em up good with moist soap.
- Wear wool socks or another material that helps keep your feet warm with slight moisture.
- Depending on what the climate is this time of year where yo live, you might actually need a warm mist humidifier. In especially colder climates when the heat is on a lot, your skin will get drier and itchier than any other time. A warm mist humidifier will do wonders for this, and actually make it harder for you catch airborn germs in the winter.
- Wear socks at least. Walking around barefoot is healthy, but it will dry your feet out faster than if they are in wool socks or shoes.

Good luck.

Oh and one other tip for a quick softener is to slather vasoline all of your feet, and then wrap them up with saran wrap. Sleep all night with them on, and in the morning, remove and wash. You'll be amazed.

Thanks for all of the great tips. I tend to go barefoot whenever I can, but I will wear socks and see what happens.

I have already noticed a slight improvement, as I am starting to use lotion 3x a day.. once when I get up, once when I get home, and once before I go to bed.

As of yesterday, I also started to soak my feet in warm water with vasoline bath beeds, and I have noticed a small improvement.

I mean, my feet are still dry, yet not as dry as they have been
