Our next door neighbor's son is a cop, and last night he was shot in the leg and neck in the line of duty. Cops put their lives on the line for us daily..He is alive though..thank goodness..

We don't have hanging in the uk anymore on the one hand i'am for it, on the other if the evidence is wrong well where do you go.But when its police doing their job they ought to have stiffer sentences.My prayers are with him and his family.Should you move to a quieter area maybe.

it didn't happen in my area..our city has a drug crime area that is just rife with gun shootings..

the hollywood brother is very sorry to hear this. there seems to be a epidemic spreading through the united states whereas terroristic crimminals spread terror to the good law abiding citzens and then when cops help,m they get shot at. It seems that this is becomeing more an more a regular story and the hollywood brother is very disgusted at this. the people that wear a badge are good hollywood brother folks who are helping people. there is a small amount of bad around that makes it nessacary to have a police force. the hollywood brother thinks that at some point the police might have to use more force and go on attacks like a army does. the hollywood brother do not want to see people dieing on the strets and the hollywood brother do not want war but if these criminals keep going after cops then at some point how can you blame the cops if someday we read that the cops went all rambo on the criminal element.

The drug/violence thing has been getting further and further out of hand since the mid-1980's, just like the number of high-level misdeeds in the financial sector (not that there's a connection or anything....)

Worse than the bacteria who sling ugly drugs and make life interesting for decent citizens and cops are those cops who like to use suspects' heads for billyclub practice or who summarily execute suspects.

Our neighbor's son had fortitude and bravery and calmness of mind..he was chasing a burglar...a nineteen year old boy who had, just last year, played football for the local highschool...he was chasing this boy, who was high on dope..and he didn't have to chase him..but he was..when the boy stopped, turned around and shot to kill...the cop, who i am very proud to know, did what a cop should do...he dropped and rolled..he didn't even know he was shot in the neck..that bullet just side swiped his neck and went on thru..the one in his leg is still lodged there..he immediately called for back-up..and within moments it seemed, back up had arrived...the cops came to our next door neighbor's at four in the morning..and of course he thought immediately the worst..but they shouted it's ok...every cop in this and near by vicinities went to visit him yesterday in the hospital..

the sad thing..this boy...now that he is down from his high..sits there in jail..faced with a life sentence..for attempted murder of a city cop.. it's a federal offense..i tell you...i am so for gun control...funny thing...our next door neighbor, he hasn't had a gun since Viet Nam..however his wife carries one ..

I'm glad to hear he will be okay. To be hurt doing a job to protect others...it just kills me. Here is a police poem that I've seen at a friends.

When I start my tour of duty God wherever crime may be,as I walk the darkened street alone, let me be close to Thee.
Please give me the understanding with both the young and old,let me listen with attention until their story is told.
Let me never make a judgement in a rash or callous way,but let me hold my patience, let each man have his say.
Lord, if some dark and dreary night, I must give up my life, Lord with your understanding love, protect my children and my wife.
