NEST Applications Officially Open! (EVERYONE please read if you hope to attend)

Actually, this is robably as good an opportunity as any to bring up something new that we're dong this year. All newbies to NEST will have the opportunity to chat with one another and a handful of NEST vets. The goal in doing so is to help you get to know one another (and some of us) a bit before you even get to Phili. It will also be a great opportunity to bring up questions and concerns that you may have so that they may be addressed. As Max said...

It's always pretty intimidating to go to a function like this for the first time. I know I'd likely have gone much sooner than I did if I'd known someone enough to trust that it would be the wonderful experience it was when I fiinally did go. Max, Jan and everyone else involved made me feel completely at home and wanted. I hope that we can do the same for everyone who ever walks through that door.

If you're new to us and thinking about coming, go ahead and sign up. We'll get you through the process with as little discomfort as we can. Then, you'll have the opportunity to gab with others before you ever show up. Once there, we'll help to introduce you around and get you settled in. It's a great time!

NEST is a party like any other party. You meet people, chat, hang out and have fun. If you see someone you'd like to tickle, strike up a convo and ask if they'd like to play. Private sessions are the same deal. Strike up a convo and ask. Like I say, it's a party like any other party, it's just all ticklephiles.

I was a newbie last year and was nervous as all hell going in. I was expecting to meet people, put screen names to faces and soforth. Tickling for me was a bonus. By the end of the first night, I'd met a ton of people, played a little and was having a blast. And that was just my first night! I totally recommend coming to NEST or any other gathering you can make.

Now I've got a question and you can PM an answer if you want. Where in Ontario are you? I only ask because I'm in Toronto, which is in Ontario still (I think).

Also I feel like I'm much younger than most people here (21) and was wondering if that matters at all to people at the event. Don't sweat it, Andy. There's a good mix of ages, including several guys and gals around your age. It's funny. Once we all get together and start gabbing (or playing) age doesn't seem to matter. People who already know one another naturally will gravitate towards one another a bit. That's human nature. But, you should always feel welcome.

As you may already have read, we have plans for some online chats and stuff to help the new folks get to know one another a bit before coming. Then, once you arrive, we'll help to introduce you around and make you feel just as much a part of the family as everyone else. Remember, there's no such thing as a stranger, only friends we have yet to meet.

So, pop on over to the NEST site and fill out an application. It's easy! You KNOW you want to! 😉

We're so excited that registrations have started so early. Because of the huge response, we had to get a bigger venue than last year ("We're gonna need a bigger boat!"). So far, we can accomodate everyone, but like all the years prior, there will be a point where we will have to restrict applications because we can't accomodate a limitless amount of people.

Like the years prior, we always give first preferences to single women and couples. This is to ensure a better ratio of male and female guests.

If you are a single male, thinking of attending this year, I HIGHLY recommend that you bring a date, spouse, lover or female friend to make sure you get in. In this early part of registration we are not limiting, but if the male to female ratios gets too high we will.

Get your applications in today and don't delay.
