It is very hard for me to organize my thoughts after a NEST. I am usually feeling too sad to write, but if I let too much time go by, I figure everyone else had said what I was feeling.
I first want to thank the TMF, and especially my good friends who are involved in it, for allowing all of my NEST posts on the TK Discussions forum. I believe, very strongly, that this amazing site was instrumental in getting the turnout that we got.
My thanks have also been privately expressed (but one can never say it too much) to my good friends who shared the responsibility and workload. A lot goes on with a NEST. There are not only laborous mailings and postings, but lots of emails answering questions. There are car rentals and airport pick-ups and hotel reservations and many trips to the various shops for supplies.There are arrangements with caterers and, in this case, scrambles for alternate locations. Many phone calls.
We do all of this for our Tickling Community in order for the guests to feel relaxed and safe. Our goals have always been to provide a friendly and safe atmosphere so that all of the guests feel....yes....Normal. We are an extraordinary group of people, us TKers. I am proud that I am what I am. I wouldn't have it any other way.
So Jan, Pete, Mike, John, Andy and everyone else that helped and even asked if they could help, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is no longer a Max idea or a Max and Pete idea. It is something that has grown. It is the realisation of a dream I had when I used to think how cool it would be to have a convention where people into tickling could meet. Whoa!
I don't want to single anyone else out because I truly want to thank everyone who attended. You all made it happen.
I know how boring it could be if you haven't attended the NEST and read about all the things people did that you didn't get a chance to do. Hopefully, it will spur you into coming next time. Our numbers have been growing each time and there is no reason that it won't continue.
But please, let me bore you just a little bit.... 🙂
One of my favorite quotes from the weekend that many of you did not hear was from the female voice, laced with a sexy British accent saying to my friend, "Thank you so much for that exquisite tickle torture".
The playroom was a huge room filled with futon cushions and there was some tickling in there, while many looked thru the glass at the activity. I had to go up to the group and say, "You can go in there and play, it's not the zoo, you know."
There was laughter resonating all over the three story place, with tickling everywhere. There were videos played and short stories scattered on hundreds of pages. There was more food than you could eat. The St. Andrew's cross got a real test of strength as it sat in the middle of a 'stage' with lights and mirrors around it. There were private rooms where tickling ensued with mirrors on the ceiling so the ticklee could watch the torture. All the time, Monitors walked around in a friendly way to make sure the scenes were done correctly and no one was uncomfortable.
I do want to extend thanks to Morandilas and Jeff from Magic Touch for providing us with many Tales from the Asylum magazines and Magic Touch videos. I'm sure that those who received them and those who got a chance to read them as they were displayed and seen Jeff's vids on the TV will now be hungry for more and support our Community by ordering.
Well, I'm sure I bored you all enough. I will crawl back into the cave until next time (or until I write another story) and let the rest of you speak.
