So I know its a huge thing and it sounds super awesome. As a person who is:
A. A long long long long long way away
B. honestly shy till I get comfortable (which to be fair is most people)
C. Not into a lot of the bondage stuff
D. Would need many moneys

Can you sell me nest? 😛

If you look through the countless posts people have made throughout the years about it... that should sell you. There ARE negatives too. Such as some people not having proper hygiene. But that's obviously not everyone lol. I know this because I read through old posts. Here and on Fetlife.)

There are events that should be closer to you. You'll still have to travel and spend lots of money but... maybe not as much. I can add to make it MORE worth it... you should travel to New York or wherever you like after NEST. Or just have fun checking out Philadelphia. Make it a big adventure! Also, there are hostiles you could stay in here to save you some money. Or split costs for hotels with others who are going here.

But... I don't understand why you keep bringing up the bondage aspect. Not everyone is into bondage. It's not like if you go to NEST or ANY BDSM event, that people are going to restrain you the minute you walk in the door. The motto for most everyone Into BDSM and/ or Tickling: SAFE, SANE, AND CONSENSUAL.

ALSO: You and I have talked at length about being shy. That, maybe you should try going out and talking to people in your area about it. A BDSM munch at least. If you haven't done that... I don't think you're ready to fly across the country to an event. You don't sound ready for it by making this post. Why spend all that money if, in your heart, you KNOW you're not ready. To me, it's like you're looking to be talked OUT of it, rather than be talked INTO it.

If you can't convince yourself you're ready... no one else can.

The posts are here (and Fetlife) for you to read. The reviews are in, from both sides of the coin. Matter of fact there's a group on Fetlife that DESPISES NEST, AND the TMF. I read what that group had to say. Because I wanted all opinions. Not just the ones that would convince me to go. Their negative reviews... aren't stopping me from going. One of their biggest reasons is: "Nest attendees aren't extreme enough. All they do is stand around and giggle".

All I can say is to each their own. I choose to go. I think I'll have a great time. And the only way I will know if NEST is right for me is TO GO. I don't need anyone's opinions anymore to go. I'm going. Whether I go BACK, is another issue. But I can't decide that, until I go.

Do your research. That's the best thing to do. Look at all the old and newest posts. Here, and on Fetlife.

We could sit here and try to convince you for pages upon pages to go. But if you're already telling yourself the reasons why you SHOULDEN"T. Maybe it's best to listen to your gut instinct, and NOT go. There is absolutely no rush to go to NEST. ESPECIALLY if you're already having financial issues. Being financially secure, outweighs everything. I haven't been to a concert in YEARS cuz money is so tight. Or NEST. Haven't been to one yet. You have to put your NEEDS first... rather than your WANTS. ("I want to go to NEST.. but my water bill NEEDS to be paid.")

Needs: Include the needs of your girlfriend. That extra $1500-$2000+... can you afford that? Even if you saved all year long. Or 2 years. Bills need to be paid. Fun comes after you have built up a fuller bank account. That's the truth.
