NEST2013 & Beyond

This is to let people know that there will be big changes in NEST
going forward.

NEST's goal was to bring people with a similar interest in tickling
together, and has been doing that very well since 1997. It has
grown to a considerable size, and we've had a wonderful mix of
people from 18-70's who are able to interact well together, for
the most part.

It was always one of the best weekends of the year, very intimate,
friendly, loving and fun, where the people who went had one agenda,
to tickle/be tickled among and with friends, old and new. There have
been quite a few couples/marriages among NESTees, and we couldn't
be happier that that sort of relationship can be formed when people
get together with positive intentions.

NEST has gotten beyond that in some ways, with people who have
a hard time understanding social protocols, some people with their
own agendas, and some who simply feel that they've out grown what
NEST has to offer, and some who don't need or want to make friends
outside of their small circles.

There are now many, many gatherings nationally and internationally
for people to go to. Because of NEST and these other gatherings, tickling
is being more and more recognized and acknowledged as something
people are into, people recognize there are others who feel as they do,
likely far closer to them than Philadelphia, and can easily get together
with them anytime they'd like.

We hope you can appreciate and enjoy all the things NEST has brought
to the tickling community over the years, and will understand that this
year will be the last one that NEST as it has been known, will happen.
NEST and the name will continue on (as will all the other *ST gatherings
it spawned!).

WOW you just crushed me ,,did i read right,,this would be last ?, u just pushed me off the fence ,,to the GO side,, i hear from soo many how fun n great it is and its hard to get like minded people that all see the fun not only physical part of tickling..but the very huge mental part of tickling and most true tickle minds know what i mean, i hvae been into tickling since a teen i had posted on other comment how i use to go to adult book store before internet tickling was around ,, and by magizines FM CONCEPTS seemed to be the best and most beautiful photos ever n you can order vhs tapes ,of soo much fun tickle stuff its locked in me ill always look at a bare foot ,,underarm,,or tummy in a vulnerable way to tickle or mine be tickled its a rare group of people that really get it! and always a great bunch of people i cant say i have ever met anyone bad that liked tickling ,,all good n all nice so far ,, may i ask why you would not have it after this year ?? even in a private message ,,im sure its alot of work for all you that make up and prepare the event and i thank you even though i havent been to one this would be my first ,,and its great that you all take time out of your lives to plan such a fun event ,, as i said i was on the fence,,being a "scardey cat" wimp..what ever u want to call it ,,now i think ill make the drive out for sure n bring all the toys i can even my own tickle bench with toys on it to keep in my room,,ill post pics of bench on my page ,, anyway hope its not the end ,thanks again for all your work and time.

Ya know, I'm as guilty as any of sometimes getting caught up with the wonderful friends that I've made and wanting to spend as much time with them as possible, but I think that it's important to remember that if it hadn't been for gatherings like NEST and Bella Bash and the TMF as a whole, none of us ever would have found each other, and we wouldn't have any idea what we're missing.

NEST is unique in that it brings people out of the woodwork who none of us have ever met or heard of. People, who may be intimidated by smaller, more intimate gatherings that those of us who are familiar with one another have come to love specifically for that intimacy that we can't get at a larger gathering like NEST, are drawn out by its iconicity. One of the very few drawbacks of those small, intimate gatherings is that they tend to lack the dozens of new people that venture out to NEST every year, thereby denying all of us the opportunity to meet a bunch of new, potentially very awesome people.

I think that NEST as we know it is an important and irreplaceable part of the community, and a part that it would be very sad to lose. Private gatherings, munches, and even tiny get-togethers between the closest of friends all have their place in the community, and I am in no way saying that anyone is wrong for wanting that time to themselves and their friends. But I think we all should consider what we give up when we choose those, not in addition to NEST, but in place of NEST. So many things may be the same. You may do the same things with the same people. And some may even be better. You don’t have to worry about certain annoyances and inconveniences that pop up at NEST, and you may have more control over certain details. But something that I, personally, think is very important that is always going to be missing, or severely diminished, at these smaller or private events is the opportunity to meet new people. As content as we all may feel in the incredible relationships that we’ve built over the past 2 or 5 or 15 years in the community, there’s no way to know what we’re still missing out on, and without something with the size and tenure of NEST, there’s a decent chance that we may never know.

NEST grows in size every year, and anything that is constantly evolving will constantly have new issues. As soon as one is fixed, another will pop up. That is unavoidable. But I firmly believe that no problem exists without a solution. That solution is not always obvious, and it sometimes requires the efforts of more than just the powers that be to find it. The question is whether or not people are willing to stick around and help solve the problem – make something you love better than it was – or jump ship.

It seems that this year, more than most, NEST is experiencing its share of hiccups. But I am sincerely hoping that there will be a good turnout of old and new folks who will make NEST 2012 a smashing success, as it has been every year that I’ve attended, and that this success will illustrate to the NEST organizers, who I sincerely believe do the very best that they can, how much we do appreciate NEST, and how important it is to the community.

Perhaps i dont know enough as to why this would end after this year. .Please forgive me for that....but if it is just a matter of needing more help or volunteers to help set up organize or whatever help may be needed i would help and im sure some other would at times. ..Im sure its quite the task to set up and prepare for those few that do the work for all who attend to enjoy..we all have jobs n lives that keep us busy so i know how that is i work alot myself and hard to make time for other things. .in any case i could be way off here. .Open to anyone to comment i just dont know what is meant by "hiccups" or troubles but i do know i have talked to many great people on here n fetlife..and all seem to be a happy family i hope to be a part of. .Other than online. .Say hi when u can i go on fetlife same name aswell. Take care all.

Unfortunately, this is not an April fools joke. Lee and I have been talking about it at length. This will be the last year of the official NEST gatherings as you all know it.
What baffles me is that why something so cool that does so much for so many people is met up with so much opposition. I know how enormously difficult it is to mount a gathering of this magnitude. Preparation takes place months ahead of time and there is much out of pocket expense. Lee has done so much to build NEST after I stopped producing them. I watch her efforts get railroaded by certain members of this community. Members you know and respect.
Apparently they feel that it's more important to feed their individual egos than to support our efforts. If you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about keep your eyes open for announcements about other gatherings that will take place on the very same weekend as NEST.
If I were you, I would go to NEST 2012. It will most definitely be the last public NEST gathering. No fools this April.

I always felt that this was done with a lot of heart put into it. Putting together a gathering of this magnitude is not easy. I will be coming and enjoying every last drop!

I , for one, was in awe with everything that was done for such a low fee too. I had the time of my life and met many wonderful people. I intend to enjoy this year's as well.

Things just have to change and move on sometimes. I guessed Lee wasn't the sort of person to do an April Fool on anyone,
especially about NEST, but thought I'd wait until commenting.

What you've all started with NEST is wonderful. You've created a model and a possibility that can spread. On the day Lee
posted this I had a brief contact on Fetlife with an Irish guy longing for some tickle action and I said how lovely it would be if
some Irish Americans co-created a NEST in Ireland.

I'd say to you NEST attendees go out and spread the joy. You may need to hire dungeons like we do in the UK rather than use hotels for all play but it's doable. So many of us know how good our kink is now and I admire the way you people in the US just get up and do things. In the UK we have our occasional BAST gatherings ( on a much smaller scale
than NEST but still 'making our friends laugh'). What I hope is that very soon tickling will be as accepted a kink as getting
flogged, caned or spanked. As an English woman I'm in the spanking centre of the world and as a pleasure loving tickle tart I
take my pleasures where they come, and I'm grateful for that, but I'd love it to be more widespread.

Have a great NEST 2012 and go out from this and make wonderful things happen all over. You know the format and what
works. I've not been to a NEST but I think NEST isn't gone, it's a concept evolving and an inspiration to us all to get things
going where we live and play. It doesn't take many people to make a tickle party. It just takes a few like-minded friends. Grab the best memories of NEST you have and run with it.
