"You're not afraid of the Boogeyman, you say? Well maybe you should be.
You think it's a silly name? Well it's only his most recent. He's had many names. Even before men could speak they knew him: the night spirit, the bringer of bad dreams. The watcher with the lantern eyes.
The first sign is you'll see him in your dreams. Just watching. That means he's taken an interest in you. He'll stalk you in your sleep, finding out your fears. And then, if he likes you, he'll send his servants, the Nightmares, to steal you away one night, and to bring you to his home.
He lives in the land of dreams where he can summon up anything he wishes. He will take you into your Master Nightmare, where he has assembled all the things that make you squirm the most. Time moves strangely there, and if he finds your suffering amusing, if he likes the way you squeal and wriggle in his dungeons, he can keep you there for a hundred years before you wake up in your bed the next morning.
You're not afraid of the Boogeyman, you say? Well maybe you should be."
This actually started out as something quite light-hearted. Like Oogie-Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas, but quickly turned dark. Oh well! As ever, all coments and criticisms are very much appreciated.
