Did anyone hear this new Van Halen tune today, The first couple of notes sounded interesting, but things fizzled out after a minute or two. After that, it's kinda typical. Almost sounds like an outake from their final Sammy-era cd, "Balance". And the less said about that one, the better.

Their back??? I turned my back on em when Roth left after the "1984" LP. Couldnt stand them turning to pop/rock when they were a hard drivin rock band. Who's the lead singer now?

Van Halen has Sammy Hagar back singing with them......who knows for how long? While I didn't mind the first 2 VH records with Sammy, they were never the same after David Lee Roth left the band. And "Jump" and "I'll Wait" from 1984 are like the equavilent of those lame-ass Aerosmith pop singles that come out every few years.

I totaly agree there! But "I'll Wait" isnt known by everyone lol. Wasnt a single. The "1984" LP wasnt great compared to the first 1978 LP and "Diver Down"..but to me it was sure as hell better than any Sammy stuff LOL.

As for Aerosmith..never really did like them when they did the comeback in the late 80s to today. For them..all 70s for me!

What a total waste of time and money. The new single played yesterday I believe here in NY (104.3) sounded like shit! That band is done. They should all just fade away into the abyss.

I totally agree, Ed, the song was definetly a throw-a-way. And something about a version of Van Halen in their 50s just sounds creepy. Why can't these bands just learn to retire like some(!!!) boxers do. At least Led Zep had the decency to say "enough" when they reached their 60s.

And with 70s Aerosmith, dskodj, the first one, "Get Your Wings", "Toys in the Attic" and "Rocks". End of story.
