I know that with it being a worldwide forum, it is already 2021 in some parts of the world.
Happy New Year to people in those places.
For those places where it is still 2020. Such as here in NYC.
Ryan Seacrests New Years Rockin Eve starts at 8 pm Eastern.
I will probably watch some of it, and of course will watch the ball drop at midnight.
When I first started watching Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve in my pre teen years.
I remember it being on from only about 11 30 pm to 1 or 130 am Eastern.
They would have a half hour of entertainment leading up to it, drop the ball, have 60 to 90 minutes of entertainment after midnight, and the show would be over.
Now, as those who watch the show are aware.
It is six hours long.
I cant watch it for six hours. It just seems too.. long.
I figure I will tune it throughout the night. Turn it on about maybe 1130 Eastern, watch the ball drop of course, and then see.
I vaguely remember watching Guy Lombardo's New Years Eve show when I was maybe 5 or 6.
Usually I had to go to sleep. Either my parents or grandparents would wake me up to watch the ball, or I would be allowed to stay up and watch it, and then it was back to sleep.
Do most forum members watch Ryan Seacreast? I guess it depends on the year.
I've only failed to watch the ball drop two years in the late 1990s.
I was in the movies with a friend at midnight.
We would go in before midnight, see a late movie, and come out around 1 or 2 am, and it would be the New Year.
Do most people watch the ball drop, say, on a regular year that is not 2020?
Thoughts on the New Years Eve shows?
