Did anyone read the comments by Knicks player Kenyon Martin, who encouraged his teammates to arrive for the Knicks-Celtics game in NY last night "Dressed For A Celtics Funeral". ??
Completely inappropriate, stupid, and shows a lack of class.. intelligence, and character, considering the recent tragic events in Boston.
Several NBA columnists apparently agree, and while those columnists don't feel the Celtics realistically have enough talent to pull off the three games to none comeback, which would have to include a win in Game 7 in NY, several columnists think it would be sweet if the Celtics did pull it off.
In an NBA series, such has never happened. I only recall it happening once in MLB, in the 2004 ALCS, when the BOSTON Red Sox, beat the NY Yankees four in a row, after being down three games to none. I know teams coming back from down three games to none has happened in hockey.
Mr Martin and his Knicks teammates shouldn't be so arrogant to think they have this series won.
Although I live in NY, and had nothing against the Knicks personally until reading those comments.. after what I just read.. GO CELTICS. If the Knicks do lose this series, it will serve them right, and I will laugh.
Thoughts on the comments?
