Most of the people I work with are pretty young, and since the summer we’ve had a number of new recruits around twenty years old- they make references which I don’t understand and I’m only around five years older than them! What does 6 7 mean? Why do I feel so old!
Anyway, there’s a trio of these girls/women who sit next to each other and pretty near to me.
There is Alisha , who has Asian ancestry, possibly Indian or Sri Lankan. Long dark hair, large round glasses, very bubbly, chilled, and a little, er, thicc.
Saskia, a light brunette, with very straight hair. Absolutely the trouble maker of the group. She often goes by Sas, or Sassy, which is pretty fitting.
Keira, a super pretty blonde blue-eyed girl who looks way more conventionally Scandi than I do. She pretends to be super professional but has feral moments where the chaos comes out.
Now, I found out Alisha was really ticklish very quickly. Saskia, who has apparently known her since they were fifteen, is constantly poking her sides, and Alisha almost always jump as though electrocuted. This happens more days than not, and sometimes will see Saskia doing a full out poking attack, forcing Alisha to writhe like crazy and descend into giggles, and seemingly making her unable to fight back.
These attacks don’t last long, and are often followed by a whine of Alisha saying “why are you always poking me” or “noo don’t tickle me,” or “why do you keep tickling me,” to which Saskia has a replied a few times with a an evil grin and “because it’s funny.” Alisha doesn’t seem to especially mind beyond the initial complaint as it keeps happening- as I said, she’s really chill and easy-going. I don’t think she enjoys it, but I don't think she really minds either.
With them having known each other for years, it does make me wonder if Saskia has done more prolonged attacks on her outside a work environment.
Keira, who sits on Saskia’s other side, isn’t spared the tickle attacks either, and seems fairly ticklish. Saskia doesn’t especially go for her especially often, but has poked her sides and ribs when she’s stretched, receiving a clearly ticklish reaction and yelp. Annoyingly, Keira has missed some clear opportunities- Keira, who seems to stretch a lot, often wears tight tops that reveal her very toned stomach when she reaches up, but Saskia hasn’t (as far as I’m aware) gone for her belly. She did once start drawing on Keira’s bare side, but that didn’t seem to gain any response, although Keria did seem to be forcing her mouth shut.
My obvious question is whether Keira is ticklish herself. Neither Alisha nor Keira have retaliated from what I’ve seen, which is disappointing. No one else in the office has commented on it either- even when Alisha is shrieking from being prodded I’ve not seen more than an eyebrow or two raised from the guys nearby.
I finally found an excuse to tickle Alisha myself only two days ago. It was our Christmas party, and Alisha was in one of the common area armchairs, with Saskia on the arm of it. Saskia held a glass of wine in one hand, and was tickling Alisha’s belly and sides with her other, telling Alisha to stop squirming or she’d spill her drink.
“Stop tickling me then!” Alisha laughed in protest.
I couldn’t resist coming over and sitting on the chair’s over arm.
“Are you okay there?” I asked the squirming Alisha.
“She’s tickling me help!” she replied.
Saskia just gave me a sadistic smile, poking away. “She’s really ticklish,” she said nonchalantly.
“Oh really?” I started poking Alisha’s other side, receiving renewed squeals from her (we are friends, so it wasn’t too weird!)
“Buy me a packet of squashies and I’ll stop,” said Saskia (referring to the sweets in the vending machine).
“Okay, okay!” was Alisha’s rapid response.
Alisha actually complied, buying sweets for the smug Saskia. I did later get Alisha an extra drink as compensation, and meant to ask her why she doesn’t fight back, but got sidetracked.

- Help Alisha get some kind of revenge
- Drag Keira into this as well somehow
- Avoid getting called into HR for any of the above
- Maybe reveal my own ticklishness, although this would very much weaken the image I’ve nurtured as the office badass.
