Okay, make your picks... Leafs are off to a suprisingly good start, Mats Sundin nets his 500th goal, in overtime, in a hat trick effort tonight! :bouncybou Hats off to ya, Mats! :couch:

Eastern Conference is wide open, but I believe teams like Toronto, Atlanta and (sacre bleu!) Montreal, may have a shot this year. Ottawa will struggle to even make the playoffs :woot: NYR and the Devils will hate each other as usual, but neither will make a sting when it counts 😉

Detroit in the West will be there, but give way to teams such as Nashville, Minnesota, Anaheim and San Jose (sacrilege to true hockey lovers 😛)

And look out for Buffalo, those blasted Sabres!

Toronto doing something in this league significant is almost as funny as New York Rangers and Stanley Cup in the same breath. Fact that the BEST goaltender in hockey is in New Jersey gives the Devils a great shot at a date in the Stanley Cup Finals. I mean look, is it a shock to anyone that the Devils are in first place??? Of course not. Fact is, Toronto scored six goals against the Devils and LOST!!! That tells you that in the end, Toronto wont be there. But we knew that. So that is no shock. Look at the Devils wins so far. They beat the Stanley Cup Champions Carolina Hurricanes, and they beat Toronto and Philadelphia. They lost their only game to Dallas on the back end of a back to back. To say that the Devils won't make it sting when it counts is unbelievable. How many Cup finals has Toronto been to in the last 15 years??? Hmmmmmm........ let's count...... hmmmmmmmm....wow....ZERO!!! 😱 What a shock. You are a great man leaf but don't go to close to the edge because with me standing there I am likely to throw you off the ship. 😛

That's the spirit, tf4u!! 😀 Somehow I knew you wouldn't appreciate my little jab at the Devils, lol 😉 Yes, they are still a great team with a great goaltender.... and how the hell Lou pulled off what he did to get his team below the cap is beyond me! I still think Mogilny's salary should count against their cap, but I digress... gotta give Lou Kudo's for sure.

Now I'll give you this much, how the hell we let a 6-3 third period lead get away I'll never know, but fact is we still put six past Brodeur!! Significant accomplishment, especially on the road... and who needs these stupid shoot-outs anyhoo! 😛 LOL The loss of Kubina on the back end really hurts our efforts, as was seen in this game as well in tonight's game against Calgary. Look at our wins... 8 of 12 points to date including two shoot out losses. But we smoked Ottawa, beat the best defensive team in the league, Calgary, with arguably THE best goalie in Mika Kiprusof, lost in shoot outs to NJ and Montreal, but deserved a better fate. I'm liking it!

I'll tell you this much, Leafs are playing a very exciting brand of hockey this year, Paul Maurice has made a huge difference... the additions of Peca, Kubina, Gill and Raycroft are paying dividends and I'm not predicting a cup win, but I think this team will definitely make some noise come playoff time 😀 See you in the playoffs! :imouttahe
