Nightmare Before Christmas is an animated movie - I think it is done in stop-motion, but don't quote me on that.

In a particular scene, this female char - Sally - is being tickled by a monster, the Ooogie Boogie [Baubau/Babau in the italian version].
Only her legs, actually... since she's an animated puppet and... well, I'm not going to ruin the fun of watching it. 😉

Problem is: the original char is quite different from the version I've done. She is a tender, almost enlightened individual, but she is vaguely misshapen and sometimes a bit pathetic.
She is prone to falling into pieces, and I couldn't really portray her as such in a tickling pic.

I wanted to make her sexy, so I made several "adjustments".

First of all, I went for a different skin colour: turned the original sickly green into a more lively blue. I love blue.

Second, I worked on her proportions to make her more "shapely". I hope you'll agree she is prettier now.

Third, I wanted to do something "inspired", yet original. I hope fans will recognize the idea, and casual observers will appreciate the pic. 😀


Oh, almost forgetting my manners. 🙂

Beautiful! I love the ghost (ha un che di macchia nera :->) with that soft dark glow, and the girl is actually much sexier than the original one, for example her feet are quite higharched: is she supposed to wear high heels often? ;-) And her expression is one of the best ticklee's face ever seen... A mixture of insanity and ecstasy, a bit like Jeanne d'Arc 🙂 Love the detail of her arm almost being ripped away: is the other arm missing because already been ripped?
I remember well the tickling scene you mentioned with Sally, I found it very cute, even though a bit weird (the monster tickling her ripped away leg's foot and her laughing somewhere else ;->).

I was a bit perplexed about the Baubau/Oogie Boogie: in the ani-movie it was meant to be made of canvas, but the toys out there portray him as ectoplasmic... So I tried something in-between - plus my usual personal touch [such as the glowing eyes].

I wanted to rended him in a eerie, shadowy way.
I really liked CorwinFt's pics: so, I tried something in the same vein - hinting the presence of the Boogie by building the highlights up, instead of simply drawing a grey ghost, and shading it down.


About Sally, I *really* tried to make her *sexy*. Having along one of my female friends [and foot-model] probably helped a tiny bit... 😉

About the arm - keen observer, aren't you? 🙂 - I'm really happy you noticed and appreciated the details.
I like to put something vaguely "horrorish" or gory in my pics - of course as long as it fits with overall theme.

The missing arm is hinted by the shredded sleeve - and it is almost a necessity too: in the original draft I *did* draw it. But in the final sketch it looked just wrong, and I couldn't fit the Boogie's face. So... I went "full horror", and ditched the limb.

Besides, the missing arm somewhat enhances the halloween theme in the pic. 😀

I am quite glad you like her expression too: it came to me naturally... Tickle torturing my friends eventually proved educational too... 😀 😀 😀

Well you'ce accomplished that, I'd say. It's a beautiful picture regardless of the seubject. I don't just mean well drawn but the color scheme is very pretty and the girl especially has a nice "glow" almost. 🙂
I've seen the movie she's from but it was so long ago that I don't really remember any of it. I was just a kid I think when I saw it. Looking at the pictures you linked to I have to agree with you, you made her look much...um...healthier? LOL 😛
