This post isnt about "bread", as in "money". I'm talking about legitimately, not being able to find any bread.

Have any forum members noticed a shortage of food, such as bread, milk, and other staples, at their local markets, due to the hurricane. This morning, when I did my food shopping at the Key Food here in Forest Hills, they had not a drop of bread on the shelves. The manager of the store said it would be tomorrow at earliest, and maybe Wednesday before any bread would be delivered to the store. He said that the delivery trucks were not able to get through. Oh, and of course we are expecting another big rainstorm on Wednesday and Thursday with heavy rain and high winds. I ;picked up a silm loaf of bread at the Port Authority Bus station in Manhattan.

Anyhow, just wanted to post this.

I feel deeply sad for everybody on the east coast! The complexity of the division of labor was really hit hard after this storm. These commodities do not appear 'out-of-thin-air'. It takes production and transportation, and I am sure the production is reasonable, but the transportation is still chaotic. Stay safe!

Praise FEMA and your hero Obama for handling the situation exactly the way government usually does. He posed in New Jersey for a few photo ops and departed to campaign.

There are people in Staten Island with no heat, no water, no electricity, and no help from FEMA yet. And it is more than a week since the hurricane came through here.

mlis, Obama isnt my "hero". I merely think he is the lesser of two evils.

I'm sorry about the people in Staten Island who have no essentials. My aunt in Hackensack hasnt had any power or hot water for over a week.

My heart goes out to the folks who've been on the receiving end of this unbelievably fucked-up weather.

I'm sure it's Bush's fault. 😛

Surely you don't think the president actually has the biggest impact by physically working within a disaster area. I'm just saying.
