due to recent virus attack on my family computer (which is used for internet access), a vast quantity of stuff has been lost through system restore. blah blah blah, anyway, my wonderful father has decided as a result to restrict the internet access and ban downloading/uploading of stuff from the internet.
which of course we all realise is completely stupid, and easily mended with the wonderous tools know as "firewalls" and "virus checkers".

as a result, my allready infrequent posts and updates will be now near to non-existent until i move out (hopefully in new year).

oh well - will be posting masssiiive update when re-acquire proper internet access.

Don't worry, stuff like that happened to me as well, I always fight it though, and always got away with getting it back, but I understand all the same.

Well, I hope things get sorted out for you in as short an order as possible. I know personally how it feels to not be able to contribute or update or even have the internet (I was recently gone for 4-5 months due to a move).

Perhaps you should explain to your father about firewalls and norton anti-virus and all these other anti-whatsus. But if its his house and his internet and/or even his computer, theres not much you can do about it.

I do hope you get back soon though. I like you and your artwork. Its a treat to the community, and your absense will be a loss.

Dang, that's quite a bummer. Parents can be such a pain sometimes. I hope things work out for you, and your dad sees the light.

That sucks. My only suggestion is invest in a decent, affordable laptop and modem card (if you have a job though) so you tell your dad to mind his own business. Besides, I know a lot more about computers than parents. My dad used to have this tendancy of downloading ANYTHING, not knowing if it was infected or not. Anyway, you should buy Norton Anti-Virus for Dummies for your pappy this Christmas, mate!

I know how it feels...I used to be forced to share a computer with my parents too. I would definitely go with Norton as i've had nothing but problems with Macafee on my PC.

Hands are numb...so I have to make this short...

it really annoying as i have my own pc i use for work and "photoshopping" but parents wouldn't let me pay for a new phone line or anything so i could have net connection in my room
