If I were the Colts, I wouldn't be congratulating ourselves too loudly, after that game. Picking up Adam Viniatieri was the greatest thing that could've happened for them.

You figure you shut out Manning completely, you've gotta come out ahead, right? The Ravens should be ashamed of themselves!

You're right Knox.Manning has been lucky these first two playoff games. We will see what happens next week i guess.I don't see them beating the Chargers at home, but with Marty's playoff record who knows.

I hate that smug look on his face.......as for the Ravens it just shows you need to score points.

I agree german, never been a Manning fan myself. He is the Dan Fouts or Dan Marino of this era,and i wish him just as much success.

what smug look? are you sure you're not talking about ELI Manning? Peyton has been a shiny example of class. his brother on the other hand....

The Colts just might make the Super Bowl. the odds are against them, but remember, Larry Johnson was supposed to run all over them. Ray Lewis (who is my favorite linebacker) and crew was going to dismantle the Colt offense. now, either New England or San Diego will get a shot and BOTH will be favored to be the Colts. any given Sunday....

I was totally disgusted with the ravens. they cost me alot of money dammit.

No kidding. I picked the Ravens to win the Super Bowl since week 2.

I don't know about Peyton being smug. Gotta agree with Primetime here, Peyton is a model of class in the league. He's never above taking the blame on himself when it's deserved. The Ravens did play great defense and hold the Colts to a really low-scoring affair. But damn, you gotta give it to the Colts D for really coming together.

These guys were supposed to crash and burn at the hands of the Chiefs, right? Goes to show that when the chips are down, the really great teams pull it off. Now, will they make it to the Super Bowl? Who knows? I've been having this little voice inside my head going "New England....New England..."....so we'll see. But, it's usually the years that you're not expected to do anything that you wind up winning it all. Maybe not being favored or having home-field did them a world of good.

Hey, I like the Colts. I'd love to see them go. But, as a Vikings/Saints/Seahawks fan, y'all know who I'm going for. :triangle:

While I have no love for the Colts, I'm glad they won since I despise the Ravens (and not just for division rivalry either). But while watching this game, it occured to me that I'm actually sitting here watching the Baltimore Colts vs. the Cleveland Browns. Just an idle thought really. Anyway, Peyton had a dismal performance. And while being the underdog suited them fairly well today, Manning better get sharp for next week for either San Diego or New England or he'll be wearing his ass as a hat by the end of the game.

i am surprised Baltimore lost, but i also learned that anything can happen in today's NFL. i love the Baltimore defense, but oh well..

i hope Peyton can win the Super Bowl. Peyton got me a championship this year in fantasy football, so i would love to see him get a NFL title in reality. that way, when fans chide him by yelling "Cut that meat!", he can reply "see my ring!"

In all respect to L.J he carried the ball 400+ times this season - that has to take a toll on his body; maybe even lose a step and when EVERYONE knows your going to get the ball in a one dimensional offense its easy to stop the run when you stack the box.

The Ravens offense isn't the greatest 'show on turf' but credit is deserved to the colts D don't get me wrong on that but I thought they went away from Jamal Lewis to early at one point is 8-45 then I checked the stats again on my phone (had to train someone) he was still 8-45........then I caught the last quarter and then they played into the colts strength; playing from behind dropping back and passing - letting Freeney and Mathis tee-off on McNair.

I don't know maybe I see something different in peyton so I will still stand by my smug remark.

The scary thing is that even when he is not dismantling defenses the colts still win and will not be to long until he finds his game again, whether it be San D or pats they will be hard to beat.

That's how it should've been. Alas, there is no justice in the world.

I've been trying to avoid these playoff threads since my dear Steelers did not make it back this year but...

I have said, long and loud, to all within ear shot that the Ravens were not as good as their record. Hear me out before all of the "a win is a win" people flock here.

The Raven offense did nothing this year to inspire confidence. The only thing it did was show it was better than last year when they have a real QB throwing the ball.

The Raven defense throughout the season had some pretty rough games, to the point that the offense had to bail them out at then end of the game.

Ray Lewis is (now) over rated. He has been getting by on screaming and his rep for that last two or three years. Actually WATCH him play. He is always the second or third guy to the play, and when he gets a one on one he gets blown over...unless the guys isn't looking. Watch the "highlights" of Ray Ray and everytime he's had a "big hit" over the past few seasons it was on a man not looking (especially on a turnover situation where the defense has the ball) or a receiver that is hung out to dry. Then the good Rev Ray jumps up like he just saw someone get stabbed and he wants to tell the world...oh wait, never mind that last bit. When he sees someone get killed he runs and hides and then lies to the police...I forgot.

Back on track...even beating the Steelers twice I felt they were over rated and the offense crumbled when they played a playoff team with even a half-decent offense.

Oh, and I've been a Saints fan since 1985 so I gotta pull for them to make it to the Super Bowl!

Wow I can sense some serious hate for Ray Lewis here.......

Well, when you're too busy trying to be the NFL's first combination middle lineman/free safety, who cares what the actualities are? The only thing that matters is Ego. Why, just ask Terrell Owens.

On the subject of overrated: the in reality very ordinary, nothing special defense presented for your examination by the erstwhile Midgets of the Midway. After this weekend, all you're gonna hear is, why did anyone think they were so damn great in the first place?
