Not just another 'Which would you rather tickle?' poll

I've noticed for a long time now that around here, when it comes to 'what female celebrities would you love to tickle'-type stuff, some of the most popular choices are ones that I would consider 'Ehh, I guess she's okay' at best, and 'What on Earth does anyone see in her?' at worst.

There are some very popular fantasy ticklees I'm all up on just like everyone else--Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore come to mind--but sometimes it seems like I'm overwhelmed by a sea of people who like women I don't find the least bit interesting, and like all the ones I think are smokin' hot are ones that no one ever shows love for (or at least, they show a lot less love than for the former).

This is not just in the tickling community, of course. I generally find that 'popular opinion' on who's the sexiest almost exactly fails to coincide with my own taste.

Anyway, I wanted to see if there are any people out there like me, who prefer the 'dark horse' choices to the 'everyone's talking about them' ones. So I made a 'Who would you rather tickle?' poll, only in each question I picked one celebrity I see drooled over all the time but am not excited by, and one I see far less often but I would give my left tes-tickle (heh) to see tied down and feathered until she can't take it anymore.

Hmm. I'm pleasantly surprised by the results, even if they are hardly extensive (12 votes, including mine).

Gillian Anderson and Julianne Moore beat Britney Spears and Carmen Electra. Rockin'! Nothing beats a ticklish redhead. ;D I would have thought BS and CE would be unquestionable winners, considering how popular they are. Kathy Griffin and Terry Farrell (my picks) managed to tie Kelly Ripa and Beyoncé (what I thought would be the obvious popular choices). So in 4 out of 10 pairs the popular choice didn't win! That's a lot better than I thought.

Even in the other 6 pairs, the one I like never got less than a third of the votes. I was wondering if some of them would even get any votes at all.

If the results of this little poll are at all representative (which they're almost certainly not, given the tiny number of votes--but let me have my dreams!), then there are a lot more people out there than I thought who don't follow the pack in their tastes. That's encouraging--not to insult those who like the more popular choices, but out of pride for those of us who love the geekier girls!

Too bad that more votes made the results come out more the way I'd have expected. Terry Farrell did still beat Beyoncé, though. And generally it seems that the girls I like are hovering around 25 - 40% of the votes. It may not be winning, but it's still a respectable showing considering the popularity of the others.

Lisa Edelstein still deserves a lot more love, though! ;P
