I don't know whether we'll see as many JFK assassination documentaries this year as we did last.(Last year was the 40th Anniversary)
I just bought the DVD of last years ABC (Peter Jennings) report -that pretty much sides with the Single Gunman Theory and that Lee H. Oswald was the shooter.
After years of suspecting a conspiracy (both before and after Oliver Stone's JFK [I now Pooh pooh the film]),I have changed a few opinions, but have kept a few old thoughts alive.
1)I must say that the single bullet theory (That Kennedy & Connelly were hit by the same bullet) seems very realistic now -with the computer demonstrations in the show.
2)I still believe that Oswald Was the shooter on the 6th floor of the Depository.
3)My feelings that there was a second gunman on the Knoll are still fairly strong. And this is because I'm uncertain whether the head shot was or could be caused by the bullets used in Oswald's rifle. There's always been thought by many that the fatal shot was a "dumb dumb bullet" or one that exploded on impact causing much damage.
Perhaps some firearms experts out there could answer some questions:
Was the Sixth floor Gunman (perhaps Oswald)in fact- using standard ammunition?(In other words - not dumb dumbs)?
Can the ammunition used on the 6th floor cause a damaging head shot as seen on the Zapruder film?
Can you load a rifle with different ammo all at once and would it be sensible to do so? (senario:Would someone want to injure with the first shot (standard ammo) and kill with the second or third shot (dumb-dumb)?
I still think it was possible that the 6th floor gunman and the knoll shooter fired simultaneously at the same time, which might have led to the severity of the head shot!
So in conclusion,I still believe Oswald shot the President and Connelly with the first shot and that he may or may not of had an influeance on the final head shot.I still leave open the real possibility of a gunman on the Grassy Knoll who delivered the fatal head shoot with a powerful damaging bullet.
