Enough said. Lidge looked last night like Braves closer Mark Wohlers did in Game Four of the 1996 World Series. Both "closers" basically handed the Yankees the keys to the championship on a silver platter. Hopefully, for pride's sake, the Phillies can pull out a win tonight, so they at least wont have to go down in front of their home fans.

cant put the blame on lidge for that he was actually pitching well, but the damon play took the wind right out of the phillies.. more a yankees win then a phillies loss

Lidge only turned a tie into a loss. Broxton turned a lead into a loss in the NLCS. 🙁 🙁

Dunno about that. But why the fucking damned hell do they have a canadian singing the national anthem? Seriously WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!

Lidge has been rather worthless all season

Its a joke he was allowed to keep at save attempts

Lidge, while he had pitched well so far this postseason, was 0-8 with an over 7 ERA in the regular season, and, I believe, 11 blown saves to go along with that.

The Braves at times changed closers for the postseason during their championship years. In 1991, they acquired Al Pena at the deadline to pitch for them, and in 1992, it was Jeff Reardon. In 2001, John Smoltz became their closer in August.

If I was Charlie Manuel, I probably would have given Ryan Madsen the closer's job for the post season. Madsen would have scared me a lot less than Lidge does.
