I've recently has a conversation about this with work colleagues and we were saying that we all must have some element of obsessive compulsive disorder.....like the small things that we do a lot but don't realise you do it(until you think about it).

So what could your OCD be?Or if you have an OCD and you are happy to discuss it what is your OCD? (and btw I don't mean to be disrespectful to you by bringing this up)

I'll start mine is constantly checking that I've locked the door when I'm aloine in the house.Within an hour I could check that I've locked the door at least five times or every time I pass the door.Even though I know I've locked the door I still have to check it.It's really bizzare!

I always have to put my right shoe/sock on first. If i'm not thinking and put it on the left foot first, i have to take everything off and start again XD

While I, Garimto, possess the mental health that is perfection, certainly it is necessary to check beneath the place of rest prior to slumber. Such an action is dictated not by the need of the compulsion, but through the danger of lurking intruders.

Many of the nights which pass, only to discover there exists an entity below.

Nothing I know of so much these days, but I did used to have to be symetrical in everything I did. For example, if I knocked my hand lightly on a wall I had to do he same thing with the other hand.

Oh yeah. I can't wash my body before my hair. I can't count to any number less than five. I have to put my pants on first. The list goes on😛

I'm like Karen here. I have several.

1) Going back and checking my car door is locked.
2) Writing my working out neat. If it's all right but messy, I need to re-write it.
3) Eating my food clockwise. Starting from the east side of my plate then all the way around.

Most of mine are bought on by a sense of security rather than subconciously doing so though, but I still have to do it. 🙂

I'm totally OCD. I mean it doesn't take a smart guy to look at my post and think i'm disturbed. Check this out.

1. I check the time every 30 mins or after doing something relevant to me.
2. I press my lock button on my keys to my car 6-10 times.
3. I sometimes perform physical actions for no apparent reasons...not even imagined ones.
4. I clean my hands whenever the smallest particleman size speck I find on my hands...not always.
5. Sometimes I type for no apparent reason...I mean out of order.
6. I can't stop playing games or if not games, doing something requiring interaction is some way.
7. I can't stand still without adjusting my seat every so often.
8. If I have to remember something, I will read it over and over on paper even if I know it in my head. Then I will forget it entirely.
9. I'm easily distracted. Give me a riddle with one answer and I will produce a background story leading up to the question.
10. I will pick anything out of cusioning if it stands out. Like little lint thingies.
11. I will hammer anything with a lot of nails for fear of the object falling down. I put 25 nails into a poster. A POSTER! Toaster. Coaster...seafood.
12. I'm random...but then again you know that.
13. I will sometimes forget what I was doing or eating only 3 mins after doing so.
14. I will listen to the same song or watch a clip over and over if given the chance, even if I don't like it in the first place.
15. I clean my nose of all forieng matter everyday. I'm not telling you how though.
16. I will randomly point with my fingers at random objects at any given time of day.
17. I will never finish anything until the second or third attempt.
18. I will randomly sing about things that have nothing to do with the original song or make one up entirely.
19. I'm lonely...though i'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
20. I am my own psychologist and talk show.
21. I will adjust anything in my immediant proximity if I feel that I don't have enough space, arranging by size or shape.
22. Istanbul is not Constantinople.
23. I will sometimes rub my beard stubble constantly to check if I need to shave even if I did recently.
24. If I like a melody, I will shake my head to the tempo.
25. I will roll my eyes in circles to see if those things in anime really do cause dizzyness...No it doesn't.
26. I will drink something everytime I eat something or I will not swallow my food.
27. I will stare at heat vapor for a period if I see it on a hot day. Not the road vapor but when you look at a surface and notice the light shadows of vapor.
28. I will explain everything I do because no one understands me anyway.
29. I constantly think of immpossible possibles and think someday they could be true. Still banking on a multiple world theory.
30. uhhh....I will sometimes type the words that indicate thought, like uhh...hmmm...and...wha...?
31. I will constantly repeat the same sentence if only to show its importance to someone else.
32. Did you know your vision in your left eye is slightly tinted blue while the other one is red? It would explain why 3d glasses are designed that way.
33. I will sometimes state what i'm thinking...like honey is sometimes gooey.
34. Tacos rule.
35. Geez....i'm running out of ideas.

I guess that is all I can think of. OCD? Hell yeah......now for intermission.

When I was in highschool, I was in ROTC (a military class class for those that don't know). I had alot of responsibility. I was first squad leader of Alpha Company, had been promoted rather quickly, and I was being groomed by my superiors to be the Company Commander the following year....and this is all in addition to the other regular classes and all that entails.

Well, I had developed an OCD where, when I got home, I would sometimes turn the faucets on and off 6 times. I would sometimes do this with the refrigerator and the lights. It had to be 6 times (one for each confirmation that the lights were on, and one for each confirmation that the lights were off).

(If any of you have seen the movie As Good As It Gets, Jack Nicholson's (Melvin) does this same thing), except he does it 5 times and with more than just lights.

Anyways, I wouldn't say it was all because of ROTC, because I loved that class and enjoyed it alot..but it was a contributing factor. We also had bad neighbors at the time that had it in for us, and when you have bad neighbors you have to deal with them all the time.

Anyways, theres other little things I'll do, but they're habits, hardly noticable, and wouldn't qualify as OCD. When I had that OCD, it only lasted for about 6 months to a year and it didn't require medication, a shrink, or anything like that. I beat it myself, and it was a pretty insignificant part of my life, but worth bringing up for the sake of conversation. 🙂

I'd say i'm completely OCD free.

Though, some other problems I face daily include, but aren't limited to...

FEAR of other people using my bar of soap, toothbrush, towel, or any other hygiene product. (With exception of those using it with my knowledge. For example, I once let my friend use some of my deodorant, but, I watched him.)

UTTER DISDAIN for those who went to college who believe they are intelligent entirely based on the fact that they went to college. Anybody who calls the common man a "beer swilling peasant" fits into this category. These people generally use big vernacular to hide the fact that they have no idea what they are talking about.

CONSTANT LONELINESS stemming from a lack of appreciation for the finer things in life, such as watching television, reading books, and one player video games. (With exception of Role Playing Games.) I probably am more lonely than Lonely Kimiko, but only in theory, and only because i'm incapable of being alone for 30 seconds without feeling some sort of loneliness. This doesn't apply to some situations, as I'd rather be alone than be with my current girlfriend.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I uh....

take my socks off everytime I come back from class. To let my toes be free 🙂

I count everything..my steps..tiles..the amount of times I chew something..everything.

--I have to keep under my nails clean or I can't function.
--I'll often call my fiance back to say good night if the first time just "didn't feel right."
--I often check and re-check doors to see if they're still locked.
--If I think about something too much, I can't go to bed until I do it. I.E.- Laundry or checking to see if my birds have enough food.
--Like Timewarp, I have an order I put my socks and shoes on. Right sock, left sock, left shoe, right shoe. Though I do sometimes break the mold if I'm late.

All I can think of right now. I actually have been diagnosed with SLIGHT OCD but, whatever. The medication I have to take for my anxiety takes care of it minus these few things.. :3

You know...I don't remember talking about shoes...(looks back at previous posts)....nope...not there. but sure..why not...

Yeah, I do this as well. I don't why but if I touch a desk or something with my left hand, I automatically do it with my right. I need to stop doing that. :|

I am a little bit obsessive about my own grammar and spelling, though I never nitpick about other peoples'.

Hmmm......

I suppose my OCD would be the fact I cannot leave the house without first wearing my necklace.

I got over that, though. I just couldn't justify it.

Man, I even crack myself up. You people must be rolfing.

8. If I have to remember something, I will read it over and over on paper even if I know it in my head. Then I will forget it entirely.

You too, huh?

15. I clean my nose of all foreign matter everyday. I'm not telling you how though.

So do I. It's a lot more common than Miss Manners would have us believe!

19. I'm lonely...though i'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

(Sigh) Another lonely ticklephile, just like me!

20. I am my own psychologist and talk show.

Bet you're not boring!

24. If I like a melody, I will shake my head to the tempo.

I'm not sure that's an OCD thing.

27. I will stare at heat vapor for a period if I see it on a hot day. Not the road vapor but when you look at a surface and notice the light shadows of vapor.

It is fascinating, isn't it, to observe certain things around us that most people would just ignore?

32. Did you know your vision in your left eye is slightly tinted blue while the other one is red? It would explain why 3d glasses are designed that way.

Yes, I've noticed that my left eye is more "Kodachrome" (warm-tome) as far as color balance goes and my right eye is more more "Ektachrome" (cold-tone). (I'm a photographer. Can you tell?)

33. I will sometimes state what i'm thinking...like honey is sometimes gooey.

Now, how Zen is that observation?

34. Tacos rule.

They certainly do! (Please pass the habanero hot sauce!)

uhhh... I find something wrong with someone agreeing with me.

I got to tell that is rare...and creepy.
