As the title says, this is the oddest question ever; it sprang to mind the other day, and I tried to banish it, but it wanted to be asked regardless. So here it is... 🙂

Did anyone as a kid, ever have a crush on a fictional character(s)? I'm pretty sure that any answers in the affirmative will be proof of an incredibly disturbing personality. 😛

I had a classmate in 4th grade who fell in love with sailor mercury....every time he would see her on the screen, he would kiss it. :weird: So, yeah, I guess thats true...

Becky Thatcher in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." My affection was based on the character as depicted in Twain's story and in the illustrations contained in my edition, published by Whitman Co. Any movie versions I saw disappointed me because the actresses never looked like the Becky I cherished in my heart.

Ohh.. oh. Here's when the rest of the community thinks I'm a frickin' odd ball.

My TV and Gaming Crushes:

1. Locke, Final Fantasy III/VI (fuck you, Celes)
2. Raphael, TMNT (yes, a freakin' turtle)
3. Damien (I think his name was), Sailor Moon.

I would get so angry when I'd see other girls in these series give my crushes attention. I don't think it's strange. I think you're more attracted to the personality rather than the character. 😉

I havent been thinking about it long but none spring to mind.
When I was a young teenager I did have a thing for one of these two young men. I won't say which, on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

Yeah a lot of these occurred when I wasn't technically a kid anymore (physically) but I'll always be the immature brat that I am, regardless of that number referred to as "age".

It's not my thread and I hate to be a hair splitter, but I would caution everyone to consider whether the crush you are remembering was on the character or on the actor/actress playing the part. It's hard to separate the two, I know, if it's a live-action film or series. I think, though, this is what Koopa meant when he called it an odd question.

Yes, Ignatz, that is correct; I meant the character, not the actor that may be portraying them in the case of live-action programmes/films.
