Like I said let's be honest in the NBA its a two horse race in my opinion between Dallas and Phoenix. These two teams will meet in the Western Conference Finals and who ever wins, win the NBA.

If you can make a arguement for any other team I would love to hear it, other than that who ya got to win the Finals this year?

i would agree, although i think it is going to be Dallas..after choking last year, they will be determined to win it all this year, even though Phoenix will give them their toughest competition.

but watch out for my Lakers. Kobe is playing MVP ball (much to the chagrin of Kobe haters) and Phil Jackson is well, Phil Jackson. dont overlook this team as they just might surprise some people....

I'd like to see Dallas win it, I felt they should've won it last year. The championship will mean a lot to the team and city after what happened last year.

I used to be a Heat fan even though I'm a Piston fan being from Detroit, but after what Riley has pulled both last year and this year, I don't have very much respect for that guy.

Look for the celtics to come alive and shock the world with a championship! :jester:

Notwitzki is my favorite player, and I'm pulling for Dallas. I think they have the best chance. However, I'm not counting any unhatched chickens, and the West won't be a cakewalk for any team. The Spurs are only 5 games back despite the stellar first half Dallas has had, and the Mavericks just squeezed by them in the playoffs last year. And the Spurs won it all the year before last. So I wouldn't call it a two way race. Barring injuries, it seems like more of a three way race.

I will agree that the Spurs were a Ginobili foul away from the conference finals, but you have to keep in mind that that is a team getting older, the Mavericks are more of a complete team on the offensive and defensive sides of the floor and the up and down pace that the Suns play along with Omare Stodumire, Shawn Marion, and Steve Nash make the very dangerous to contend with.

The Spurs will have to deal with both these team come playoff time and if the Spurs have it in them to battle to the end with the Mavericks (and make no mistake when ever the Spurs and Mavericks meet it will be a battle to the seventh game) that team is gonna have to deal with the Suns.

This is probably true. It seems like whichever team is the #1 seed is at a disadvantage because they will most likely have to face the Spurs as the #4 seed in the second round before the Western Conference Finals. It's funny how the seeding works in the NBA.

Although I'm not a big basketball fan i would like to see Dallas do it

did you see that Dallas vs Phoenix game?

Amare Stoudemire brought a 41 pound sledgehammer on the court with him...

41 points......that kid is the real deal......

That game was crazy. Unfortunately I didn't see the anything after Nash hit those 3 free throws at the end of the 4th. They were down 110-108 after the free throws and I turned the TV because of a commercial. I forgot all about the game until much later when I went to ESPN.com and saw a heading that said "Suns WIN WILD, WILD SHOOTOUT." The first thing I thought was that it was a typo. I couldn't believe they pulled it off, but I was happy because I want the Suns to win it all this year.

You still have to play defense in this league...I think either Detroit, San Antonio or Miami will win it again.

Detroit destroyed Phoenix on their home floor w/o Billups, barely lost today to Dallas w/o him also..

To answer the question of this thread...if Detroit doesn't win, I'd like to see Dallas win it

right now, Dallas is playing the best basketball, but for some reason i think they will choke again in the Finals. Detroit SHOULD make it out of the East, but after last year's collapse against the Heat, who knows. Phoenix will be tough, but Dallas is better than them. They can play "Phoenix ball" on offense, and they have a better defense. The Spurs are too old, but will make noise and everyone else in the West, including my Lakers, are just playing to be playing.
