They are remaking movies from the 80's and 90's?! I am not getting old, but the new generational writers - sucks terribly!

Kind of a mixed bag there, if all those are actually made.

Some should never be remade because they were done perfectly the first time (The Wild Bunch) or are too closely identified with certain artists (Yellow Submarine). The Seven Samurai sort of falls into this category; I say "sort of" because it was remade once. But from I've read of this newest version, it won't touch either Kurosawa's original or The Magnificent Seven.
Others may or may not be classics, but were done well enough that no remake is necessary (The Birds, Robocop, An American Werewolf in London).

Some just make no sense (why would anyone remake Drop Dead Fred or House Party?).

Quite a few have been remade before, so I wouldn't have a problem with another version (Carrie, All Quiet on the Western Front, Little Shop of Horrors, A Star is Born, My Fair Lady, Scarface). It would depend on how well the new versions were made.

And some might actually benefit from a remake, though I wouldn't count on that too much (Evil Dead, Highlander, Pet Semetary).

You had to throw Evil Dead on your list? Give Bruce Campbell a break! He is a blue-collar actor... He is no Dennis Quaid, but he gives it his all. 😛

Well, the Dredd version was infinitely superior to the 90s version. But then that was less of a remake, and more of a seperate adaption of the source material.

Very concerned about the Evil Dead remake. Both Raimi and Campbell have given it their blessing, but...an Evil Dead movie without Bruce? It just doesn't seem right!

Call me crazy, but I liked the sequels better than the original. Anyway, it's no worse than Escape from New York without Kurt Russell or Lethal Weapon without Gibson and Glover.

The real disgrace, though, is that anyone even thought of remaking Peckinpah's masterpiece.

I believe the better remakes are the ones that rename the movie with a different title that way its can go into its own direction. Like Tin Man or The Wiz was a remake of the Wizard of Oz really worked in my opinion.
