I'm going to the Mets-Braves game tonight.. with three friends. As baseball fans who saw the game or heard, are aware, last night's game was delayed by rain, and then suspended, in a 5-5 tie in the ninth inning. We will see at least ten innings of baseball tonight.
The weather is about the worst I can remember when going to a game. It is cold, and windy, with rain pelting off and on.
I got the tickets through a third party, so I don't know if the seats are covered or not.
This will be my third time at Citi Field. I went to the Mets-Braves last year, and also to a Mets-Cubs game. On both occasions, it was mid summer, and although both games were at night, it was hot and humid.
Tonight should be interesting. I've been to two doubleheaders in my life, both in the 80s, and both because of rainouts of the previous night's game. One DH was at the old Atlanta Fulton County Stadium between the Mets and Braves in 1987, and one at the old Shea Stadium, between the Mets and Cubs in 1986. I've never been to the completion of a suspended game, with another full game to follow.
