The Good Guys had a relatively quiet winter after claiming the National League title. There was no drama, and Mitch and Naomi reached quick agreement on new one year contracts with Alan, for raises of $250,000 each. Neither had any intention of retiring just yet, as, after losing the World Series, neither one wanted to go out after a year with anything less than a championship.
After a productive spring training, the season opened on an overcast, humid, 80 degree in Paradise. After a ceremony to hoist the National League Championship banner to the flagpole, the team started it's season. Kate Hudson was on the mound, making her traditional opening day start, against the New York Mets. She was opposed by Mets ace Pedro Martinez. Both pitchers fared well, and both left, tied 1-1, after six innings. Then, after a battle of the vaunted bullpens, the Good Guys finally pushed the winning run across in the tenth, on a single, to prevail, 2-1. The teams were back at it the next day at the ballpark, as Tom Glavine opposed Gil Bellows. Bellows was sharp, allowing two runs in seven innings. Glavine was decent as well, permitting only three runs over seven innings. Again, the game came down to the bullpens, where, in the ninth, Hilary Duff got a tough save, striking out Carlos Delgado and Carlos Beltran in succession, with fastballs in the 90s, to perserve a 3-2 Good Guy win. The good times continued to roll in the third game of the series, as Charlize Theron opposed Orlando Hernandez. Hernandez was credible as well, allowing three runs over six innings, but Charlize was lights out, fanning ten in eight innings, and allowing but one run, as Duff got her second save, again overpowering the Mets, in a 3-1 win, to complete a very impressive opening series sweep.
After an off day on Thursday, the Atlanta Braves visited Paradise on Friday night. The Good Guys, after polishing off the fine and hated Mets in the opening series, may have been a little flat. Neve Campbell allowed three straight home runs, good for four fifth inning runs, and the Good Guys could not recover, suffering their first loss of the year, 4-2. Things didnt get any better for the Paradise Islanders on Saturday night, as Rachel Leigh Cook gave up six runs in three innings, earning a chorus of boos from the crowd, and a 6-3 loss for herself. Kate Hudson opposed Braves ace John Smoltz on a sunny, dry, 80 degree April Sunday. The expected pitcher's duel that day materialized, as Kate allowed one early mistake, an Andruw Jones home run early. Smoltz didnt get anything else, but was cruising along in the seventh, when a bloop hit, and an error put two men on. Mitch came up, and promptly turned the game around, blasting a three run homer into the right field bullpen off Smoltz, to give the Good Guys a 3-1 lead, that they never relinquished, a lead protected by Kate, and then in the ninth, by Duff, who earned her third save.
Houston came to town on Monday night. Gil Bellows was on the mound, and he pitched well, leaving in a 1-1 tie after seven. Unfortunately, the bullpen imploded that night, as the Good Guy pen gave up three in the eighth, and another in the ninth, earning a chorus of boos from the crowd, and a 5-1 Paradise defeat. The loss was the Good Guys third in the last four games, after starting with three straight wins, and Sniderman held a team meeting before Tuesday's game, to try and rally his troops. On Tuesday night, with Charlize on the mound, the manager's pep talk had apparently worked. Charlize allowed only one run, on two hits, in eight fantastic innings, while striking out ten Astros. In the eighth, tied 1-1, with two men on, Mitch came up, and hit a three run homer, to give the Good Guys a lead they would not give back, and the win, 4-1 over the 'Stros. Neve Campbell took the mound on a perfect Wednesday afternoon, in front of a sellout, in the homestand's last game, before the team would head on their first road trip. Neve, who had been roughed up in her previous outing against the Braves on Friday night, pitched a much better game on that Wednesday afternoon. She fired seven innings of one run ball. Unfortunately, her effort earned her little else but a no decision. In the seventh, the Good Guys got a run, only to see Amanda Bynes give it right back, and another run as well, to give Houston the lead. Trailing, 3-2 in the eighth, Ed Burns came up with two men on, and blasted a homer into the right field bullpen, to give Paradise the lead, that was perserved by Duff, who got her league leading fourth save, in a 5-3 Paradise Island win, that completed a most acceptable six and three homestand. Sniderman was pleased that his team had recovered to win three of the last four games, after stumbling a bit against Atlanta that weekend. Now, as they preprared to head on their first road trip of the year, the Good Guys were playing solid ball.
Little if any drama was occurring in the Mitch/Naomi relationship so early in the season. The couple was attending counseling, loving, and slowly getting into the mindset of a new and long baseball season. It remained to be seen if the tranquility would continue, or if the usual friction would develop between the two as the year went along.
Of course, no start to the season would be complete without the traditional Saturday night tickle party, the first that year, which was held following the loss to the Braves on Saturday night. The featured lee was an interesting one with a past. Erin O Hearn, a hot auburn haired reporter who had joined the Good Guys that year, but hailed from Philadelphia. As the new girl in town, Erin knew it was customary for all newbies to get the tickle initiation. In Erin's case, two factors were interesting. First, she depised being tickled, which was no big deal, and one the team had gotten around in the past to their advantage. Second, and most significant, was that a few years earlier, while living in Philly, Erin had been the victim of a tickling bandit that had been attacking women in Philadelphia, much like the one who had attacked women in Atlanta some years earlier. Late one night, in her condo, upon returning home, Erin had been confronted by a man with a weapon, robbed, forced to take off her foot coverings and clothes, and tickled into oblivion, an experience that was both humilating, and infuriating, to her. Since then, Erin had been so shellshocked, that she even had refused to let any dates she had since, tickle her, or touch her feet. After a discussion with team brass upon joining the club, she agreed to be a good sport, and get a tickle initiation welcome, as long as it was not a regular diet of tickling. Erin, after voluntarially stripping to a bra and panties, was tied hands and feet to the bed, in the middle of the fetish club. Catcher Barney began the tickle on Erin's neck with fingers, as her head shifted from side to side, and the giggles began:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! NOOO! Moving down, second baseman Russell tickled Erin on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly, counting her ribs, as Erin shrieked, and squealed:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! THATS TICKLISH! OH I WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO DO THIS! NOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Center Fielder Ed Burns was next, tickling Erin on her hips, inner thighs, and behind her knees with fingers, causing more squeals, and bucking:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! LEGS TICKLISH AND JERKING! NOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch was the last tickler, tickling his favorite spot, the soles of Erin's soft feet. Mitch attacked her feet with fingers, feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush over Erin's soft soles and toes. Erin went beserk, she wiggled her toes every which way, and squealed with laughter and giggles, begging for mercy:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHGEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHE! OKAY! OKAY! PLEASE NO MORE TICKLE! I CANT STAND IT! I GIVE UP! NO PLEASE NO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!Finally, the tickle ended, and the exhausted, pretty, correspondent was untied.
On Thursday night, Naomi drove Mitch to the airport, so that he could catch the team flight to New York. All was quiet and civil between the couple during the trip, as it had been during the homestand. No issues, dramas, or arguments, just good feeling. Would it continue? That remained to be seen.
So, it was a very quiet first homestand of the year, with solid baseball play, and, no dramas. Now came a ten day road trip, the first of the year, Would the good feeling continue? What would happen next? That answer to come in the next segment of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.

The End

So launches another season of Good Guys baseball. It is excellent to have them back. Interesting bit in there about the tickling bandit, maybe he is a serial tickler and is hitting all the metropolitan areas? Anyway, great story and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you, happy, your praise is appreciated as always. The tickling bandit was actually a tounge in cheek reference to a series of stories I did about three years ago, before writing about the Good Guys. The series was about a tickling bandit, who primarially had victims in the Atlanta area. Miss O Hearn wasnt one of them, because I didnt even know who she was at the time, but, I figured that since she is hot, and that tickling bandit is my top tickle fantasy, why not co mingle her appearance in our storyline, with a past experience of her being attacked by a tickling bandit.
As you know, stay tuned, there will be more to come soon. Oh, and the real baseball important series are over for a while, so I'll do my best to post a new story on here every day, or at the very least, two days, so you have fresh material to read several times a week.
