On Monday night Lazarus and I added two new members to our family. We like to call them our "Christmas Angels". 🙂

Lazzy once had a little girl calico kitty who meant the world to him. He adored her more than anything. But unforseen circumstances arose and he was forced to give her up. Ever since then, it's been his dream to get another little female calico to try to fill the void sweetheart left in his heart.

Well, right after Lazzy left for work Monday, I got the news that an acquaintance of an acquaintance had just what we were looking for. I hopped in my friends car and we went over there. Upon seeing the little calico, I knew I would not be leaving that house without her. Little did I know though, at that moment, that she would not be coming home with me alone. After interacting with the kittens for about a half hour, and watching the little calico play with her sisters, I noticed she had a strong bond with one of them in particular. It was the same one that captured MY heart the moment I walked in. Well, I decided I couldn't just bring the calico home alone, and take her away from ALL her family...especially not when she had 3 old men kitties to come home to. And also not when I saw how tightly bonded she was with her one particular sister. So they both came home with me.

It was supposed to be a surprise Christmas present for Lazzy. One he would be presented with in the morning when he returned from work. It didn't work out that way. Shortly after leaving here for work Monday night, Lazzy had a car accident. His first one. A huge buck rammed itself full speed into the side of his van, and sent the vehicle spinning out of control. Between the damage to the van, and the minor injuries sustained by Lazzy during the accident, he was forced to turn back home and take the night off work. He walked into the house moments after I did with our new little additions. It was definitely a night of surprises. On BOTH ends!

Anyway, the kitties are now home and adjusting rather well to their new surroundings, and their big brothers. Talk about spunky little poops though! WOW! I'm telling you....there is no joy in the world like the joy you get when watching two little spry fuzzballs zooming through the house attempting to bite off their siblings tail...lol. We named the calico "Autumn", due to her fall leaf colors, and also as a tribute to Lazzy's daughter who passed away in the Autumn of 1995. The other one is a little black and brown tortiose shell, whom we decided to call "Reeses" since she looks like a reeses peanut butter cup. Here are some pictures of our new little darlings. Sorry for the quality, but trying to get either one of them to sit still long enough for a quick snapshot is pretty much impossible!

Our first Christmas together has been truly blessed, thanks to our two little Christmas angels. 🙂

:cat: :cat: Cute kittens. I'm sure that you'll give them a good home. :cat: :cat:

sooo cute! my little maltese loves to play with cats. they would have so much fun together.

Awwwww.......they are sooooo adorable!!!😀 I congratulate you, Mimi, on finding such little treasures!😀

That is just too cool.

Cats have jungle survival instincts, but their most potent survival weapon is their uncanny ability to steal the hearts of us lowly humans.

Congrats !! You're now committed to supporting these lazy little fuzzballs for the next twenty years.

oh, and how they love it when the plan comes together....

the kitties are adorable but my question is...

How's Lazarus? That accident sounds pretty scary. I'm just glad he's ok.

He's fine. Had a sore leg and arm for a couple of days, and was mighty shaken, but he's almost back to normal now (well, as normal as he gets, anyway 😀 ).

Thanks for the comments on the kittens, folks. I know we just love em to pieces, and Lazzy is extremely happy with my selection of his 'xmas gifts'. The little calico is developing an attitude, though. Not with us...she is a mega baby with humans. Loves to be cuddled and held and stroked. Both of em do. But the calico has developed an extreme dislike for my 3 old men kitties. Every time one of them comes within 5 feet of her, she arches her back, her tail goes fat, her hair stands on end, her ears go flat back against her head, and she'll charge at them sideways, growling and hissing up a storm until they run away, cowering...lol. She's such a little sass. Gotta love it 😀

I'm not too big of a cat fan, but those kittens are adorable. Congratulations, and I hope that the new additions suit your family well.

All I can say is....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

We're planning to get benji a little brother or sister after the craziness of the holidays is over. We figure we'll be settled in enough by then to bring a new kitten into the house.

I'm alright...

And the kittens were a welcome surprise, even tho I wasn't in much of a mood for kitties when I got home, limping badly, and wishing for a grill for that damn buck, cussing and swearing about the damage to the van, and having to miss work...

Let's see...5 cats and a gerbil....

Gettin' quite the zoo sometimes....

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

As one who once upon a time HATED cats but was lucky enough to have been forced to live with some, & one in particular who showed me what it was like to have a special kitty "bond" with me, I can barely express my joy at your having found sound some special kitties of your own.

My special friend was named Simon. He was pure white with green eyes. I initially dislike him (because at that time I just disliked cats), but he was VERY persistent in his displays of affection toward me and eventually won me over. I have loved cats ever since.

Lazzy: glad to hear you're OK. You can always repair or replace vans... But I'm also deeply saddened by the loss of your daughter (my hear sank when I read that). I hope your heart is healing OK.

Happy Holidays to the both of you.

To be honest...

Whomever said "Time heals all wounds" was a Professional Bullshitter.

Some wounds weren't meant to heal, or to heal somewhere down the line...

But, I have come to terms with what happened, and it started me down the path of finding God again....

🙂

Thanks for your kind thoughts, tho....

It gets hard during this time of year...
