Pachio's trainer, who knew both fighters, called this win months ago. Folks thought de La Hoya's size and reach would be advantages.
Looks real bad for Oscar, especially because some are pissed that Oscar's statue was recently placed at the Staples Center facility where Magic Johnson and Wayne Gretzky's statues are mounted. Some thought Oscar's statue was just an advertising marketing gimmick, and then Oscar comes out and gets pounded by the Pacman.
The reach never told as far as I could see; Pacquiao was just too sharp, and as far as De La Hoya's size all that did was plant him into the mat. He looked slow, old and creaky.

Oh dear. It does indeed look bad for the Golden Boy; stupid thing is Hatton is still after a fight with De La Hoya on some level. He reckons he'll be done with fighting within the next few big bouts so I suppose he wants to get all he can get cash-wise then pack in. It would be the bigger purse no doubt, but where's the prestige in whupping someone who was made to look a complete mug in his last fight? Hatton's no Pac-man but on De La Hoya's current form I wouldn't give him much of a chance against the Hitman. That said the other option Hatton's looking at is fighting Pacquiao, and I'm not sure how that would go. I mean yeah, he did plough into Mayweather, made life hard for him for the first few rounds and Pacquiao is a much smaller man than Mayweather so if he did that he might just bulldoze him, but that was what everyone said about De La Hoya... Hatton's a lot sharper than the Golden Boy though. Would be a good'un, I think.... :-o
