Panhandling banned in Atlanta

I saw on cnn a little while ago that the city council in Atlanta passed law banning panhandling. What do you people think? Poor bashing or a legit way to clean up the streets?

Good for them!

Place was lousy with `em in the `80's, I can't even imagine how bad things are now.

Unfortunately, they'll all probably migrate here. Problem with that is, there's plenty of work available here, so the old, "My mother is in the hospital and my car is broke down, couldja spare a coupla bucks so I can take a cab to the hospital" sob story will only take you so far.

If someone WANTS to work, there is employment available. To me, even the most menial (sp?) job would be better than standing out at an intersection in the blazing sun hoping for someone to throw a buck or two my way!
