I was on FB a little while ago chatting with a friend. They asked me if I'd like to get together, to which I responded, "no, it's 2 o'clock in the am." They said, "Oh come on, what are we, 12?"
I replied by saying, "I'm old -- I need to sleep." As I typed that, some grayed out text appeared in the window which was not sent by her, and it said "you are not permitted to do that." Weird...
Not as weird as the time my friend and I found a website called "Chatbot." Or at least I think that's what it was called.
Anyway, it's a program where you make statements or ask questions, and a computer responds to you. It learns and becomes more adept at conversation the more people talk to it.

His fiancee was in the kitchen making dinner -- sloppy joes. He typed to the computer, "Hello." It responded by saying, "Hello. How are your sloppy joes?"
He proceeded to rip the power cord out of the wall.
Strangest of all is an experience from years ago, when I was still living with my father. I was in my bedroom, and he was in his office when I heard him shouting for me. "Look at this!" he said.
On his computer screen were the words, "look at this!" In the quiet spaces where we weren't speaking, conversation would appear on the screen, things like "Hey, I'm running to the store, do you need anything?" or "Turn channel 4 on, I think it's time for that show."
I asked him what was going on, and every single word I said would suddenly appear on the screen, and the same for him. We couldn't figure it out. It didn't look like a program either; it looked like something glitched and we happened to see something that we weren't supposed to know was there, like someone was listening to us.
The purpose of this thread was mostly lighthearted, to share some entertaining and eerie coincidences with you, but in all seriousness, the last one still bothers me today. Has anyone ever had anything like that happen to them?
