Don't read id you've not seen it

For those who have seen it, and know WTF I'm on about, but that last scene in The Parting of the Ways was a bit crap, the Regeneration scene sucked in my opinion as it was like a bad recreation of the last episode of "the Caves of Androzani", the regeneration between Doctor 5 and Doctor 6.

I don't know about crap - or being a rehash of the aforementioned regeneration scene in The Caves of Androzani (BTW, I'm a big, long-time fan of Doctor Who, and have watched nearly every episode released on video). - they certainly have tried in the past to make each regeneration as different as possible from all that have gone before; I do think that the actual act of regeneration seemed to be rather much shorter than usual though, thus giving it a rather sloppy, rushed feeling.

I think that the ending was filmed recently as a replacement scene giving CE's resignation, and it didn't work for me becaus of the speed of the scene. That one scene is, however the only critisism I have of Season 27 other thanh the 900 yeasr old thing, as he hs been that age for the last four incarnations or indeed "many thousands of your years" according to Pertwee in Terror of the Autons (I think) That said, the 900 year old Time Lord years thing seems to have originally come from a newspaper the day after the first regeneration when Hartnel turned into Throughtan.
But I have to say that I will miss the 9th Doctor, as he is the only Doctor (outside of Sylvester) that I took too instantly.

Re: The Doctor's age

Generally, over the years, the Doctor quoted his age to be in the several hundreds (rarely giving any exact figures - though the 7th Doctor did say in his first story that he was 953 - human? - years old).

On the whole, these figures made a rapid incline (I believe the 4th Doctor was about 4-5 centuries old), which doesn't really make sense, as he had human companions all the time and none of them aged significantly over the course of their travels. O well....
