Man, I hate it when I'm in the ballpark...
Phil Harris, the captain of the Cornelia Marie on the Discovery Channel series "Deadliest Catch" passed away yesterday due to a massive stroke suffered while the ship was docked and off-loading its' catch. Despite being flown by helicopter and showing signs of recovery, Harris's body simply wasn't up to the task of recovering from such damage.
I have been a fan of the series since the beginning, and I have always enjoyed the main captains (Sig, Phil, John & Andy, and Keith) and their crew in different ways. Phil was always a hardhead, but he seemed to have hsi heart in the right palce when it came to family and thsoe who worked beneath him. When the news broke on Jan. 30 about the stroke, Something at the back of my mind said, "This might be it. His history of medical problems could have finally caught up with him." I didn't want to believe it, but when it's your time, there's little you can do about it.
Now I wait and see how this impacts the upcoming season of the series. Regardless, it will be somewhat of a downer...but I will watch every one nonetheless.
