And as a Dodger fan, I must say this: Whatever happens in the rest of the NLCS, it brings joy to my heart that the hated jints didn't make it to post-season play this year. 55 years and counting since the hated jints last won the World Series.

It's not over yet, but it does look very good for the Phillies. I had a feeling at the beginning of the postseason that the World Series would be Yankees-Phillies. It looks like that may well happen.

Even if the Phillies do win the NLCS, that will likely be their last celebration this year, because, if the Yankees win the ALCS, they should beat the Phillies in the World Series.

They have a chance to be the first NL team in more than 30 years to win consecutive World Series. (The last team to do so was the Cincinnati Reds, 1975 and 1976.)

In game 6, to which you refer, the Angels overcame a 5-0 deficit to win, 6-5, thanks in part to the Russ Ortiz as you noted.

It caused me to celebrate greatly.

That is correct. I will gladly root for any of 15 NL teams in the World Series, but never for the hated jints.
