Phillies are doing awesome this year!

The Phillied beat the L.A Dodgers last night and now they're in the World Series! I am so happy for them ! I really hope they win the World Series. The last time they were in the World Series was in 1993 but I don't think they won. The last time they won the World Series was in 1980. We'll see what happens.

Although I would much rather have seen the Cubs win the NL pennant, I'm happy for the Phillies, too, and I hope they can win their first WS since 1980. And I hope, should the Phils win it in Philadelphia, the mayor won't line the field with cops holding vicious dogs that will do nothing but throw a wet blanket on the joyousness.

Dodgers fan here checking in with congratulations to the Phillies. They stepped up and played team baseball, and the better team clearly won the series.

Your memory of 1993 is correct. The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Phillies that year in the World Series.

I'm sure the Red Sox will be the Phillies' opponent in the Series. The Red Sox have no pressure on them. All the pressure is on the Rays and I'm certain it will be their undoing...just like last year with the Indians and 2003 with the Cubs.

Anyway, no matter who wins the ALCS I will root for the Phillies.

Being a native of southeastern PA, I'm taking bets on how many cars will be burnt in the ensuing melee if the Phillies win.

My guess is two, but it may be as many as three.

Car payments too high and want to get it totalled to claim the insurance? Park on Broad Street and put a Tampa Bay sticker on the car -- it's a lock. 🙂
