Phillies starter Roy Halliday has just completed a perfect game against the Florida Marlins. The perfect game is the second in baseball this year, as my Atlanta Braves were the victims of one earlier this year.

Perfect games are quite a feat in baseball. Congratulations to Halliday.

Mitch

The other perfect game in mlb this year was Dallas Braden of the Oakland A's against the Tampa Rays, Mitchell. Ubaldo Jimenez of the Rockies threw a no-hitter against the Braves earlier in the year though however.

Congratulations to Roy Halladay! What a night in Phillies history! It was only the 20th perfect game in major league baseball history and the 2nd perfect game in Philadelphia Phillies history. Jim Bunning threw a perfect game on Father's Day in 1964 for the Phils.

What are 2 things that the Marlins and Rays have in common?

They both share the same state as Disney World and teams to be perfected against in 2010 🙂

Youre right, Amish, and I apologize for my mistake. I'm a Braves fan too, so I should have remembered that, lol.

Three no hitters and two perfect games in baseball is a lot, and its only May. Maybe this will be the year of the no hitter.

I really don't think the Rays give a shit about the perfect game thrown against them since they own the best record in all of baseball.

No problem Mitch. Just keeping you on your toes.

I would be surprised if there was another no-hitter this year in baseball, but ya never know. That's why they play the games.

Someone remind me why the Jays had to trade him away again? :cry1:

Becaues they weren't going to win a championship with him.

Still, I know it must sting to watch him succeed in another teams colors.

Hang in there Toronto fans, the Yanks and Sox can't stay good forever!

Why is it that that comment stings more than losing Halliday? :Grrr: 😛 ENDLESS GRRRRRRRR-AGE TO THE YANKS AND THE "SAWX". Still though... noooo... is it possible that Halliday is the first National League pitcher EVER to throw a perfect game???? NO FUCKING WAY!!! Baseball afficionados - prove or disprove this!

No, there have been other perfect games pitched in the National League before. Randy Johnson for the Arizona Diamondbacks was the last one to do so in 2004.

Their budget analysts respectfully disagree 🙂

Halladay is an ace in the truest sense. I'm glad he's out of the AL East now, so the Orioles don't need to face him anymore. Of course, the Orioles can't hit many teams' 5th starters, so it's kind of a moot point. 😛

Maybe the Orioles should go the way of the Brewers and change leagues...lol.

Wouldn't matter. They'd still suck. And it pains me to say that.

Maybe they should break the league up into Class A MLB teams (Rays, Yanks, Sox, Twins, Phils, Cards, ect..) and Class B (Royals, Brewers, Astros, Pirates, Orioles), that way the really sucky teams have a shot to win in their own league...LOL

OR

The teams the finish dead last or lose like 100 games in a season get to compete in the Triple A Playoffs to see if they can at least beat a minor league club.

Did someone post about the Oakland Athletics pitcher that did his a few weeks ago.. because if no one did, someone should have. And well maybe it should have been me since that's my team, but oh well lol.. well congrats to Holladay.. and if no one felt the need to say it, congrats to Braden of the Athletics as well 😀 Two perfect games in one month... pretty interesting.. You don't see more than one perfect game in a season, but two in the same month... that's pretty cool.

I don't see how, they have alot of of really good young players.

Like Brian Matusz... that kid is a stud.

Anyways, I'm glad for Doc Halladay and am really glad that I have him in two fantasy baseball leagues 😀

Certainly not. Sandy Koufax pitched a perfect game for the Dodgers against the Cubs in September 1965. :couch:
