Today was my midterm in philosophy. We had to write 4-5 points about 10 out of 20 vocab words (which included some philosophers). I thought I'd completely fail on the whole test since I was so stressed, but instead I think I might have passed with flying colors.
On to the in-class essay...
Well, the professor enjoys satire, comedy, etc., and I couldn't think of what to write about so I wrote an essay on how much I dislike St. Augustine. And it was drunk with jokes about how I wished Augustine had been sentenced to death earlier, and how God might really react to him going to brothels for years and years. I think he's a complete joke, although he may have been a good writer (from what I read, I enjoyed his writing style at least). I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that.
The ending to my essay was a quote from Socrates: "The unexamined life isn't worth living." And I said how I wished Augustine had failed to examine his life because the outcome was a worthless philosophy on life. *wince* I was wincing the whole time I wrote the essay.
Wish me luck on it. I have no clue how it'll go. I'll put the essay and his comments on my blog (http://cdiscreet-landslide.blogspot.com/) when I get it back, if anyone cares to look.
