It's not a coincidence
I suspect that there are quite a few ticklephiles among the ranks of health care professionals. Many doctors, nurses, technicians and therapists seem to enjoy "accidently" tickling their patients. My primary care physician happens to be female. During an exam, she'll sometimes ask if I'm ticklish, or warn me that something she's about to do might tickle. I certaimly don't mind if it does, and I've even egged her on by admitting that I'm very ticklish. I received a routine EKG in her office a few years ago. The nurse attached the electrodes and wires, and then she left me lying there on the table wearing only a gown. She hadn't bothered to close the door, thus my bare soles were fully visable to everyone out in the hall. A nurse's aid popped ino the room, smiled, and then she gave my feet a quick, playful tickle. Giggling, I jokingly asked if she was trying to get my heart rate up for the EKG.
