First of all this 9 minute clip is going to be unlike anything you will have seen before.

Now the history bit. Pina Bausch is a German Dance Choreographer, and I saw this opera just the one time on telly back in 1985. Now living in the Tickle desert of that time, this whole thing seared itself into my mind, to the extent that I never forgot it. I have also often tried to search online to see if I could find any of it or anything about it (without success), that is until last night. Then lo and behold the whole opera in 12 parts is on You Tube. I have gone through all the other 11 parts, but this is the part with the real action (which starts at around the 1.55 mark), then stops and carries on to a lesser degree further in.

You may all think this is nothing or the weirdest thing you have ever seen, but it has completed a circle for me.

That was a great scene!

But what the hell is this about???

Wtf?

I understand why you posted that here. However, that was like the ending of Blair Witch on acid. I can scarcely comprehend what the hell that was. Thanks, tho.

Huh?

Was there something else besides the guy dropping leaves on the three girls as they laughed? Did I miss something?

Just tried it and it works okay. I sometimes find youtube clips work straight away and sometimes not (never sure is it them or my ISP)

Aaaaah ... "If Only ..."

If only dropping dried-up leaves on women's flesh got that kinda reaction ...

... THEN I'D BE A LEAF-DROPPING FOOL! October , here I come ...!

LOL Thanks for posting the link , WheresThe Clip?.

Pina Bausch is probably the most important choreographer in Germany, and has been doing shows for many years. She has also danced in a number of films. The above seems to be her adaptation of the Opera "Bluebeard" by Bela Bartok. The story of Bluebeard is an old fairy tale of a nobleman living in an old castle who used to entice young women into his clutches, only to have them disappear forever, to be finally killed by him.
The scene certainly seems a little weird, but I guess she is trying to interpret what moves him to be the way he is. I do not know the opera myself, have only heard of it, but it must be somthing contained in the story.
Thanks for posting that. It is certainly a piece of fetish history.
