Greetings! Rather than hijacking Random Banter 3 thread (oops, sorry) this is for any members who may have an interest in model building.
For me - I've been constructing models for thirty-five years, I've owned, Aurora "Universal Movie Monster" kits - Wolfman, Dracula, Mummy, ect. - Dinosaur models (a few), 200 1/48th scale WWII aircraft - British, German, Russian, Japanese, American.
(Which explains why I'm so intraverted) HA! HA! HA! HA!
Currently on a NASCAR model building kick - Revell's 1/24th scale Dupont 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is on the workbench.
I am also working on adding to my collection of 15 CASCAR models, 1/24th Ron Beauchomp #60 Mopar Dodge is done, just have to find a older NASCAR seat to finish it off!

Oh. I build tons of tickle models. They are in my movies...do they count?

I love building tank models Normally 1/35 However I am starting to build 1/48 Right now I have a Russian SU-122 sp howitzer and a Panzer III Ausf L in work Both are 1/48 and made by Tamiya

I'm with a model building group, we have a excellant representation of armour modelers, some of them are dabbling into 1/48th scale armour befitting the 1/48th aircraft.
However I doubt good old 1/35th scale will vanish.
When you get the 1/48th Pkfw III finished, I would like to see a pic of the model if possible?

10-4 on that I will be painting it panzer gray I was gonna paint it in DAK colors But I don't have the correct shade with me in the truck I model in the bunk area of my big rig You going to the IPMS Nats in August?

IPMS Nats, where will it be held? I likely will have work holding me back (WAAA) LOL
Yeah, I believe Panzer Grey did make it's use in North Africa during the campaign...
if not DAK colours, you could perhaps whitewash the PanzerIII from the Russian Front?

Kansas City,Missouri this year A long drive from BC hey? I know that DAK vehicles were gray at first This panzer variant came out in 1942 The markings for the gray vehicle in this kit are Herman Goring panzer division in Germany 1942

Kanas eh?...yeah a slightly long drive....LOL! I'll just have to wait until they reach Seattle? maybe I could hitch a ride from one of the guys in our club.
I don't why I liek to Panzer III, it's fav of mine - I guess it seems well porportioned for combat. - That it was second most used to the PanzerIV. (?)

(Do I get another dumb question?) LOL, I take it you have the reference material for paint schemes for your Panzer III? I could check my limited selection of books to see what schemes apply to your project?

"YEEGADS!" can't be! on yahoo I have signed up with "Model cars Unlimited" but i get TONS of messeges...

* Have you perused Yahoo? They offer a couple of model groups, I thought one was in armour!*
How many models do you own? (out of curiousity)
Do you specialise in one particular type of armour?

I asked about DAK colors on the track48 forum That's when I found out what shade of brown/sand I need for DAK vehicles in 1942 I primarily build W.W.2 stuff I lost count of how many kits, built and unbuilt, I have

Thanks for posting the pic!! Excellant work, I am familar how small 1/48th scale armour is, you've done a fantastic job weathering the model!!
Have you concidered entering model contests?
I'd say you'd give other 1/48th scale armour modelers a run for their money!

I will be entering it in the IPMS Nats Thanks for the kind words
Since the model looks great, I was curious if you constuct dioramas as well?
Perhaps, a base covered in snow, and a treeline at one side of the base, the model is viewed through the treeline as if moving on the Eastern Front?
I have no idea for snow, I tried baking flour and eventually it yellowed slightly spoiling the appearance.
To make 1/48th scale trees, roots from shrubs dipped in tealeaves works well.
Especially if you construct a 1/48th scale Hetzer Tank Destroyer, hide it in the treeline. My 1/35th Hetzer is displayed this way and looks intriqueing.

i used to build those Snap-Tight models. stopped doing that and haven't gone back to building models of any kind.

Hey, at least you took a shot at model building - alot of guys get too busy and lose interest, perhaps you might pick it up again later.
