normally, i am a bit more private about certain aspects of my personal life. however, i have seen how the power of positivity and hope can often help create change, or at least soften life's big punches.

later this week, CS2K's dad will be undergoing surgery. he has bone cancer that has developed in his right leg, in the thigh. supposedly, surgeons will have to remove most, if not all, of the muscle tissue to remove the cancer. there is a slight possibility some of his anatomy will have to be removed as well. this is a massive procedure that can have 2 outcomes. i don't have to tell you which ones...

CS2K has been really tough throughout the ordeal, and it upsets me that i cannot go to houston to give her support should the worst happen.

for those of you that pray...and even those who don't, please keep my ladylove and her father in your thoughts. i have seen alot of posts like this as of late, and i feel like crap asking for such a favor. but they need it and this was the best place i could think of to come to for such help.

thank you all for your time. i'll post here once i get an update on her father's condition.

Of course, CG2K, I'll keep you all in my thoughts. My mother lost her leg to an extraordinarily aggressive soft-tissue sarcoma in '05. They were trying times. I can do some of my healing spells for Cloudslave's dad, if he doesn't object to what amount to pagan prayers. They are not satanist, nor in any way anti Christian; they originated in a time when Christianity had not yet come into existance. All I know is, they have been passed down from father to son in my family for at least 70 generations, they invoke the spirits of aspects of nature, and they seem to work.

I lost my dad when I was 15, and my mom passed away in 2002, so I can empathize.

first of all...i want to thank all of you for the help. she is also really grateful, and will say so herself upon her return.
now, an update: i spoke to CS2K a bit earlier. her dad will have to have an amputation up to the hip. it is pretty much the only way the cancer will be halted, and much better than having a useless leg to deal with.
the irony is...her dad is a prosthetics technician and has been given the Humanitarian of the Year award for his work in that field. if anyone can design a new leg to use, it's him. and it'll give him some insight into how amputees must go through life, and give him a bit of knolwedge on how to improve exisiting designs.
i should have a new update later tomorrow...
and Tank...i don't know you that well, but you're solid in my book. your prayers are more than welcome.

UPDATE:
just got out of surgery. according to initial tests, CS2K's dad is in the clear, with more tests to follow. the surgeons were able to save enough of his hipbone to allow for prosthesis, and will be ok.
i want to thank everyone for their help. major karma points to all. in time, things will get back to normal for him...but for now it's recovery, resting, and rehabilitation.
