Recently while watching Family Feud,I came up with an idea for a survey,"name a popular TV show you hated."Several very popular shows have been on I could not stand,I'm sure everyone feels that way.For me,the most odious drama was The Waltons,a piece of sickenly sweet sentimentality.In the sitcom category,Laverne & Shirleyis a close winner over several competitors.It was full of anachronisms(e.g.,I saw a scene once where Penny Marshall did a pratfall.The setting was 1957,when her dress rode up,she obviously was wearing pantyhose).Another thing was the way they insisted on those two singing,they had perfect singing voices for silent movies,then again Miss Marshall has a perfect face for radio.Let me hear from you,tell me a Nielson hit that was a miss for you.:xpeepsofa

'Rosanne' and 'The Drew Carey Show' come to mind.
For some reason I just cannot stand to watch either of these shows.
 
I agree with you on both.In the case of Roseanne,it was a close second to Laverne & Shirleyfor me.I never liked Drew Carey,so I never watched his show.
 
Friends, Dawsons Creek, big brother/amazing race/bachelor/shot of love/american idol/anything with flava flav or any of the skank bitches on that show/anything with paris hiton or other snotty chicks who are famous because they are rich show their ass on the internet boobs in a magazine sisters with lindsey lohan... basically reality TV in general.

Oh boy where to begin. I don't really watch television much, but I can add a few to the list. American Idol (besides some of the auditions), Friends, The OC, Project Runway, America's next top anything in which a panel of assholes decides the fate of someone, almost all of what is now Adult Swim (a real shame). "Reality TV" is one of the worst inventions of all time. I think TV was invented to lull the masses into a sheep-like state to keep them from thinking too much. Someone will also inevitably add Family Guy to the list, acting like that show isn't funny. What's with those people?

Hey it is ok not everyone can find the humor in seinfeld. unlike Glam up there who hates little house.... seriously how could you hate little house?
 
Basically any reality show with the exception of Hell's Kitchen and Next Food Network Star, those are the only two I can stand probably because I like to cook.

I also absolutely abhor I Love Lucy.
 
I hated Beverly Hills 90210...Thank God we'll never see that show ever again!
 
Pretty much everything on television nowadays. Except LOST...I still like that. Thats probably about it.
 


I thought Seinfeld was hilarious until they explained in an episode how it was a show about nothing. Once I realized I was wasting my time watching nothing, I got up immediately and went out and did something. Hated it ever since. Hate's a pretty strong word though. 😛

Hmmm...what else. Lost, Heroes, anything Reality based except for a few guilty pleasures. Pretty much anything that isn't Mad Men.
 
Survivor - and reality shows in general. I watched 15 minutes of one, and that was enough.
 
never watched a single episode of friends and never will, i can't get past the opening theme...

I dislike any reality tv, all scripted garbage because it costs too much to make a real show.
 
Though I got caught up in some of them initially, it's mainly the reality shows. American Idol, Survivor, Big Brother and all the others. They're impossible to keep track of because there are so many.
 
First off, any reality show. (How many survivors, real worlds and american idols do we need? Really?)

As for 'sitcoms' SCRUBS! Hate that awful show. Friends, Drew Carey, Two and a Half Men (NOT FUNNY!), and basically everything on ABC post 'Full House' and NBC post 'Seinfeld'.

And FOX has had too many bad shows to name in this thread... double ditto for cable.

I think it would be easier to name GREAT shows over the last 5-10 years.:manicd:
 
Sad thought just occured to me, all these awful shows still in syndication... and ARRESTED DEVELOPEMENT is off the air...

Current popular TV show that I hate and don't watch: American Idol
All-time worst popular TV show IMO: Roseanne
